Good value, friendly staff. Rooms are small and simple but well maintained and clean. The hotel is surprisingly quiet considering how close it is to Times Square. Only complaint is the incredibly noisy radiator that turns on every 2 hours or so and woke me up. But terrific location and I figure in NYC you'll get woken up by the street noise anyway.

Friendly greeting upon check in. Room was very clean, but very stark and basic. However, the bed linens were the freshest ever in all of my travels, and a comfortable bed! I would give this hotel more stars if there were ANY amenities! No drinking water available, not in the room/ not even a coin operated machine! Please, at least offer a bottle at check-in then!

I generally don’t do reviews, but I was very happy with the St James Hotel. Though a historic building it has been renovated to modern standards. It is in the thick of things, steps away from Times Square and Broadway. The staff was exceptionally friendly. My only complaint is that there wasn’t a refrigerator in the room, though maybe you can request one? I would not hesitate to go back.

Beautiful old hotel with charm and great staff. Rooms are a bit small but are clean and well appointed, and outlets are not as plentiful as in newer facilities, but we were only there most days to sleep. In a great area close to many attractions. Would stay again

I love this hotel. Rooms are spotless, and big for a NY hotel. The location can't be beat. Staff are friendly. Convenience store and a great Irish pub steps away. Great place for a NY theater weekend!

My stay was so great! The hotel was very clean, the staff was nice and the location was amazing! This hotel didn’t have any fancy bells and whistles, but a quiet and comfy place to say was perfect after all the long days walking around NYC. I would definitely stay here again!

The room was cleaned daily with fresh towels, which was great. The location is fantastic—right in the heart of Times Square. The hotel itself has an old, antique charm. The room was quite basic but had comfortable beds, along with an iron and a fridge. It would have been even better if there had been a kettle and some cups. Overall, very pleased with the hotel and staff.

Budget-friendly and conveniently located in midtown, steps away from time square. The hotel is a bit older, but what really stood out was the excellent customer service from Joey at the front desk, he truly goes above and beyond! My only complaints were that the elevators weren’t working and one of the front desk staff members, Jay, came across as very unfriendly and rude. Other than that, my stay was great, and Joeys kindness and professionalism definitely made my stay worthwhile.

For the expense of the room, it's not worth it, soap and shampoo dispensers in room were empty, elevator is sub- standard, staff was good, considering the state , and age of the hotel, won't be staying there in the future, sorry for the lousy review.
