Booked superior room weeks ago from UK as really wanted traditional style NY hotel, not high rise. Understood there would be sofa bed for my daughter who is a teenager. Got to room, mattress on sofa bed in 805 was appalling and sofa dirty. Springs were prominent, it was so thin you would be sleeping on metal. For price of over $365 it was awful. Lovely room cleaner tried to sort out with thick blankets, didn’t work. Called manager who refused to touch bed to understand how bad it was. Assuming he knew the state of it anyway. If Hotel is classed as boutique they should have decent mattresses on sofa beds!!! Told us only option was to leave hotel, find another hotel in NYC and get refund. This was early evening. Hotel is not a boutique and manager not customer focussed, to help or understand frustration. It was not a pleasant experience. I never post reviews. Just be careful if you book hotel with kids!!!

Room was spacious, clean, and as advertised. The building has character, though the hallways and staircase are narrow and smell like cigarettes—likely due to its age. The real issue was the service. Beware of the poor service and watch your statements for unauthorized charges. Unfortunately, the front desk staff, Jasmine, ruined the experience. From the moment we checked in, her treatment toward us and other guests was unprofessional and unwelcoming. She confirmed only city tax would be charged, but I later found unexpected charges on my card. She never sent me an invoice even though I specifically requested it at checkout. When I called to clarify the charges, she refused to connect me to management and told me to contact Expedia instead. It was only resolved after I raised my voice. No apology, no accountability—just poor service from start to finish. I will not be returning and have already alerted my bank in case I need to dispute the extra charges.

Beds were comfortable. Hotel needs a deep clean and some updating (carpets, paint etc). We were happy with it in general but it is showing it’s age.

Very conveniently located with excellent restaurants nearby and close to the subway and theatres. The bed was very comfortable and we loved receiving 2 bottles of water everyday. The bathroom is very small but it was fine for the two of us. The staff were always friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.

the curtain rods were installed, the curtains themselves were not hung, and the curtain pulls were left up. The blinds were dirty, and the main blind wouldn’t go up properly. There were also holes and stains on the blinds. the blow dryer didn’t work, and there was no body wash provided. These small but important details added up and affected the overall comfort and convenience of the stay.

Stayed several nights with teenage daughter while seeing the sights. Location is great for first time too NYC. Hotel is charming. Rooms are a little small, and typical for what you get in a big city like this. Recommend!

A Charming Hotel

The Gregorian is centrally located and a convenient walk to MSG, Rockefeller Centre, Korea Town etc.... it's a charming hotel. Staff is super friendly and helpful. This is my second time at this hotel. The first time I gave 5 stars, but this time, I can't give a perfect review because the bathtub was not cleaned well. There was residue of soap scum left behind previous guests. Nonetheless, it's my hotel of choice for New York because of the great staff and ambiance.
