Honestly could not fault this place at all. Staff very welcoming and attentive. If things were not available in your room they would be more than happy to help and provide eg. Iron and Iron Board. We had a truly wonderful stay at The Packhorse Inn. We stayed in Warren Room which was really lovely a very comfortable bed and a fantastic bathroom. Areas of the room and the hallway leading to it are a little tired looking stained carpet and areas of paintwork could be refreshed. The food was absolutely amazing we had roast beef and sticky date pudding for our meal. Lovely service the waiter was very helpful and attentive. Breakfast was also very good the staff looking after us were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely return!

The room and food was good. The great wine list with many options by the glass, nice outdoor areas. Unfortunately, I was woken early by the cleaners outside my room running water and banging buckets. Breakfast was okay, only one person was serving and quite a lot of other staff standing around.

Overnight stay

My wife and I stayed overnight to meet up with family and have a meal together. The room was lovely, clean, and welcoming. Bathroom was modern and clean with good shower. The staff were very friendly and the service was great! We had a meal in the restaurant which was wonderful, the breakfast was equally as good! All in all a great stay and I can see us revisiting.

Only downside was the room that we were allocated while comfortable had an unimpressive aspect and was missing some finer details e.g. could have done with an extra chair and a small coffee table (the room was big enough) and it lacked hanging space. Weekend visiting Newmarket.

We had a lovely one night stay in the Warren room, it was very comfortable with a beautiful bathroom, two small notes, there is no accessible plug socket near the right hand side of the bed & the TV was not working while we were there but that wasn’t really a problem for us as we were out most of the time. The food was excellent and staff very friendly and attentive.
