Agate Beach Chalet Newport OregonJuly 1-31, 2026We liked the views, its location to explore the coast and the beach which was a short walk away. But we were very disappointed in the condo. It was not clean; spider webs everywhere even after the management company attempt to remove them, moldy grout in the master shower, the spa tub was broken, the BBQ was rusty, dirty and full of spider webs - it was replaced after we complained, unfinished drywall patch, clutter filled all closets, cupboards and laundry room with little space for our clothes and food. It took days to find the home instructions which were spread around the condo. The tall windows offered a nice ocean view however the afternoon sun caused the master loft to become extremely hot (85-89 degrees) and it did not cool off until the middle of the night. The owners bought a fan for us and we purchased another large fan but they could not keep up with excessive heat from the partially shaded windows. Two of the TV worked once the owner fixed the remotes and wiring.

Really lovely stay, great location, good experience. Only suggestion would be more fans since there is no air conditioning for hot days. Would recommend and stay again!

Relocation Stay - Living Vacation

Great - 😊 Location is right across the street from Agate Beach. It's close to stores and restaurants but in a quiet location. Peek-a-boo views of the ocean. 30 ft windows, sleeping in the loft master bedroom, you can literally lay in bed and see the ocean. Super open and airy. Loaded with supplies - about everything you can think of in the kitchen to games, beach chairs, crab pots, grill, hot tub. Loved the back deck. You can sit at the picnic table and hear the roar of the ocean. The hot tub is clean, well maintained weekly and it's very cool to sit in it and see all the stars at night. Lrg gas grill outback is wonderful for BBQing. It's got a 2 person jetted tub in the master bath. Older but works great. Julie, the property manger is friendly, very competent and addressed any question or concerns quickly. Not so good - 😕 Property is 10+ yrs old - so expect it to be not perfect. Not property mgmts fault but location - road is gravel and the pot holes are enormous at the entrance/exit. The trash is a long walk, make sure to take the key, the cans are locked. If your staying long term, you can not get mail there. There is a lawsuit with the HOA. We had to get a PO box. The house is a open/loft set-up, so if your party is multiple ppl, be aware you will hear everything if your sleeping in the loft and others are anywhere else. Cleanliness- if your OCD it may bother you that things are not perfect. It's not gross by any means. Linens, bathrooms, kitchen are clean but may find dust or imperfections. * Remember with these rentals, ppl are not in them all the time and mgmt doesn't stay or live there, so they don't know if anything is wrong unless you tell them. Kindness goes a long ways. We'd definitely recommend this VRBO. Beautiful location, house is more than just turn key and mgmt is great.
