This splendid house sleeps ten guests across five bedrooms. It is perfect for familes or friends looking to share a special occasion together, including two canine companions. The house is full of light and is tastefully furnished, with a lovely, welcoming feel. Set on the edge of the village of Thurlton, it is secluded yet within 300 metres of a shop and a pub. The scenic village of Reedham is 4 miles away, and the coast at Great Yarmouth (11 miles) is within easy reach.

The bright sitting room, with comfortable seating and an open fire, has French doors to the garden. There’s a snug, with sofas and a wood burner, and a peaceful library. The large country kitchen houses an AGA, while an elegant, formal dining room seats ten. Upstairs are five spacious bedrooms: two super-king-size, a double, a twin and a bunk bed. There are two en-suites and two family bathrooms, one with a roll-top bath. Outside, the mature garden is a delight, with trees, wildflowers, a firepit and occasional visits by wildlife from the surrounding countryside.

Reedham, set on the River Yare in the Norfolk Broads, has traditional pubs and a lovely riverside walk, with seats where you can admire the view while tucking into fish and chips from the local chippy. The village is famous for having one of the UK’s last working railway swing bridges and has a real ale brewery with a shop. Head to Pettitts Animal Adventure Park, on the edge of Reedham, for family fun, and feel the sand between your toes at the traditional seaside resort of Great Yarmouth, with its many attractions for all ages.
