Just a short stroll from the beach, this inviting retreat offers the ideal blend of comfort, convenience, and coastal charm, with nearby access to local shops, restaurants, fishing, and water activities. Step inside and discover a thoughtfully designed space made for easy family living. The Primary Bedroom offers a peaceful retreat with a King bed, while three additional guest bedrooms provide plenty of room for everyone! Featuring a Queen bed, another Queen, and a cozy Single, ideal for kids or extra guests. A full bathroom adds convenience, and the open-concept living, dining, and kitchen area creates the perfect space for gathering, whether you're sharing meals, playing games, or winding down after a beach day. The fully equipped kitchen and BBQ grill make dining in just as enjoyable as dining out.



Outside is where the fun really begins. Enjoy your private pool, perfect for cooling off on warm days or relaxing with an evening swim. Heated year round at no extra cost to you! The backyard offers space for lounging, playing, and soaking up the sunshine, creating the perfect setting for laid-back afternoons and family fun. During your stay, you’ll have exclusive access to the entire home, giving you the privacy and flexibility to enjoy your vacation your way. Whether you're heading to the beach, exploring the island, or simply relaxing poolside, “A Last Resort” is designed to make every moment easy and enjoyable. We’re here to make your stay as smooth and relaxing as possible. While we respect your privacy, our team is nearby and available should you need anything during your visit. We strive to respond quickly so you can focus on enjoying your time together!



Parking:

Private Driveway with space for up to 3 vehicles. Boat Trailers are allowed. Sea Coast is not affiliated with the towing companies and is not responsible for any failure to park as per posted signs.



Linens:

Sheets and Towels will be wrapped in sealed packages and lying on the ends of the beds.



Rental Policies:

In response to the increased incidence of credit card fraud, a valid government photo ID will be required for every reservation. A signed rental agreement is required: accepting House Rules on any online travel agency requires reading and acceptance of our rental agreement.



Things to bring:

Paper towels and toilet paper, trash bags, soaps, detergents, minimal cleaning supplies, and beach towels.



Arrival/Departure:

Summer Check-ins (June-August) begin at 4 pm and are guaranteed by 6 pm

Off-season check-ins begin at 3 pm and are guaranteed by 5 pm

Check-out is by 10 am.

We adhere to this policy, so please do not arrive early or plan to delay your departure.

House Rules:

- No events such as weddings, bachelor/bachelorette parties, sororities/fraternities

- No smoking inside, outside, or in common areas downstairs

- You must be at least 25 to rent this unit.



Pool Notice:

Heated Pool open year round, weather permitting. The ”True Season” for this pool is March 1 st through December 1st. Pool closures may be dictated by the Health Department. Pools may also be closed after a hurricane or tropical storm. Sea Coast Rentals/Owners will not be held accountable. No refunds will be issued for these closures.



Pet Policy:

Up to 2 dogs allowed. The first dog is included in the price of the Rental. Subsequent dogs are subject to additional payments and restrictions! Oak Island Beaches are pet-friendly, but you must follow town guidelines. Please check the town website for beach pet restrictions.



Cancellation Policy:

We want to make sure you’re aware of our cancellation policy. If you cancel when your arrival date is more than 60 days away, you will receive a full refund. If you cancel when your arrival date is less than 60 days away, you will forfeit your deposit.

The Neighborhood:

Located directly on the border of North Carolina and South Carolina’s coasts, Calabash is known as the “Seafood Capital of the World”. This small fishing town originated "Calabash-Style" seafood, a distinctive style of fried seafood of clams, fish, shrimp, and oysters dipped in a light, flavorful batter and fried quickly. The Calabash River borders the southern part of town, where shrimp boats dock daily during the season, selling fresh-caught treasures. The family-friendly community is proud of its culinary connection, featured at local seafood restaurants along Beach Drive and River Road. Be sure to try one of the original riverside eateries like Captain Nance's Seafood for crisp, authentic Calabash seafood and views of fishing boats. Although seafood and fishing certainly bring this community together, Calabash offers so much more for visitors, with nearby Sunset Beach, Ocean Isle Beach, Cherry Grove Beach, Swamp Park, Ingraham Aquarium, local fishing charters, and boating tours on the Calabash River.



Getting Around:

Getting around Oak Island is easy! While 'A Last Resort' offers free parking on the premises, you'll also find convenient options for exploring the area. The closest major airport is Wilmington International Airport (ILM), approximately a 45-minute drive away. From the house, you can easily access local shops and restaurants by car or even a leisurely walk. Public transportation options are limited in Oak Island, so having a car is recommended to make the most of your family vacation. Enjoy the freedom to explore the beautiful beaches, nearby attractions, and charming coastal towns at your own pace.

We had a blast at this property! We were thankful dogs were welcome and the fenced in yard was perfect. The kids had a blast in the pool and we enjoyed our time together.
