Neighborhood and surroundings
Paros is located on the west part of Naxos Island from which is separated by a channel about eight kilometers. It is located 185 km from Piraeus and is one of the most popular islands after Mykonos and Santorini. It has an area of ??165 square km and its size took third place in the Cyclades islands. To the west is 2 km from Antiparos. The island is famous for its beaches; Golden Beach is the largest and is located opposite the island of Naxos. Other beaches are: Pounda, Logaras, Piso Livadi, Naoussa bay, Parikia and Agia Irini. The capital, Parikia, is located in a northwestern island bay. From its port there are daily ferries to Piraeus, Heraklion (Crete) and to other islands such as Naxos, Ios, Mykonos and Santorini.
