Upon arrival, the front desk representative refused to attach my Bonvoy membership to the reservation, which was already frustrating given my loyalty to the brand. However, the situation quickly escalated beyond a simple inconvenience. Shortly after check-in, we discovered that the water from the faucets and shower was brown and yellow. We reported the issue immediately and were moved to another room — in the middle of the night — while traveling with both a special needs child and a newborn. Unfortunately, the water in the new room was also discolored and clearly unsafe. Due to our concerns, we resorted to boiling bottled water in the in-room coffee pot to wash baby bottles, as we did not trust the tap water. We were even hesitant to brush our teeth or shower because of the visible contamination. This experience was extremely distressing and completely inconsistent with Marriott’s standards of quality, safety, and guest care.

When I checked into the hotel, the front desk receptionist was very pleasant and friendly. I was given a key to the room, went up in the elevator to find that the key was not working. Went back down to the front desk to ask for a replacement key. I received another key, then proceeded back to the room only to find that the room that she assigned me was not the correct room type that I reserved. I called the front desk, the same receptionist who was initially pleasant, told me that was definitely the room that I reserved. After going back-and-forth for a few minutes, I told her that I have a confirmation abd would be happy to provide it to her. She finally asked me for my name, then told me I can come down and get the key “to the room that I reserved”. Once I went back down, again for the second time, she handed me the key and never acknowledged me nor apologize for the confusion. We all make mistakes, however, communication is key. Clearly this young lady needs customer service training.

We book 2night stay with our children as we were going to sesame place the next day. However, on our 1night our room smelled like cat. The receptionist did change the room immediately. Later, the night someone had access to our room and would have came in if we didn’t have the security lock on the door. No one offered an apology or anything. Needless to say we checked out early!
