Ok, firstly I want to say the staff were very nice but here’s the rundown about the hotel right now. I’m a long term Kimpton customer and there was no advance warning that the hotel is undergoing upgrades or even at check in. On the positive side, the bedding appeared to be clean. The room was in absolute disrepair. The furnishings are broken, many of which are made from mirror and could be dangerous if you put your hand on them - definitely not safe for kids. The bathroom door would not close and there was mold in the bathroom. The shower has so high pressure and could not be pointed in a direction that would not completely drench the floor. The plumbing seems to be having a hard time. The hallway smelled like sewage and the room was not much better. The walls were incredibly marked up. The fan in the bathroom did not work and the entire room became incredibly humid during showering. The staff said the hotel was undergoing upgrades but there were no available rooms currently upgraded. I did not ask to change rooms as I expect most are the same. Based on what I saw, I’m not sure these rooms should be rented out at all, even at a discounted rate. I feel ripped off even with the steal I got through Expedia. Valet is $60 so wouldn’t recommend. I wanted to spend as little time in the room as possible during our short stay.
