Staff was great my only complaints was: 1. the water sports always seemed to have a reason they where not available. I tried for 3 days and could not get on. Either they full(but no one was on them as I watched all day). 2. The cigarette butts all over the beach and walk ways wasnt very appealing. One of the dirtiest beaches I have seen in mexico when it comes to cigarette butts. 3. Rest of the stsy was great with kind people and decent food.

Overall incredible stay at Riu Tequila. The activity staff are amazing and work hard at ensuring you have a great time. Grounds are beautiful and the wildlife is a plus. Food was really good and our room was always cleaned and restocked. Would highly recommend.

Gustavo Yoga is amazing. We come to the resort every year and I look forward to this yoga class and dance classes. My family loves to play volleyball and relax on the beach and the resort is perfect for us.

The buffet was ok, not great. The Black Cow was disappointing. The service was kind but slow and steak was not good. After that experience, we just stuck to the buffet. The pool closed too early. So, we ended up going to the beach but would have preferred to go to the pool.

We are a family of four with two teenagers. We stayed over Christmas and loved our stay. We travel a lot and this one will be my favorite. This is a large resort so yes walking is necessary but not horrible if you can get around. We took the ferry to the hotel 45 minutes then a taxi to the hotel. I give the hotel a 9 in everything. It’s clean, the food is great, the beach is beautiful and clean. Staff goes out of their to help and friendly. Lots of activities or you can chill at the pools and they have four to choose from. I have no complaints and would recommend. If I had to give one critique it was the entertainment. It was nice but dated. This hotel had a younger audience and the shows were more for a much older audience. The show was great if you were 60 plus. Again not a deal breaker but it lost a lot of people. The sports bar is fun, pool tables, snacks, and tvs for sports. You won’t be disappointed here! Just remember you need to walk here. Wheelchairs and family members who may have troubles walking would struggle.

This is our 3rd visit as a family of 4 and we absolutely love it. The food is great, the entertainment is fabulous and the Riu parties have us coming back again and again! The beds aren't the comfiest, but that's our biggest complaint! The staff are amazing and we absolutely LOVE the entertainment staff every stay. They always go above and beyond!

The bathroom and shower area air vacumm is not working properly. Sometimes is working well, sometimes not even staff came to fix it. Besides that, there is no staff oversee the line for the car going to the beach, we have been waiting for half hour, and every time when the car came, the people just hop on the car without waiting on line. That's very frustruated. I was there for vocation and not there to fight for a seat to go to beach.

The food needs improvement. Breakfast is basically egg and bread for me at the buffet, not much choice for meat. Although i like their juices, you can tell it is real fruit and not from a box. Lunch and supper are not good either for both buffets and restaurants, but buffets are worst. The pastas and rice dishes are either under cooked or over done. Meat are over cooked. Waiters at the buffets are in charge of too many tables, you do not see them as much compare to the other resorts/hotels i had been, but they will help you and accommodate your needs of you see them. I feel like the waiters and cooks are over worked compare to other hotels/ resorts i had been. Also, if you booked a hotel at Tequila, asking for e new towels in exhange of your wet once at Yucatan and Playacar, well good luck, some staff does not allow that ( but some do), you have to use a wet towel over and over or just go back to Tequila which is not beach front. Lastly, from Tequila to Yucatan hotel you can walk since Tequila is not beach front. Riu does offer a golf cart that will bring you from Tequila to Tucatan if you feel tired, specially when you have small kids. The problem is they only provide one golf cart. With that much guests 1 golf cart is not enough. It is either you walk back or you wait for a long time. Walking is okey for adults but when you have kids that are way too tired from swimming, or older people that has knee issues riding the golf cart is always a better option.

I did not realize when I booked the hotel that it was not beachfront. Though it is just located behind Riu Yucatan, the photos online are most of the Yucatan not the Tequila. Your stay at the Tequila does include the Yucatan beach and pool access s well as lunchtime buffet and all the poolside bars. Having said that, there is a golf cart shuttle that runs throughout the day where you can be at the beach in about one minute. Or you can take a 5 to 10 minute walk from the lobby and be over at the Yucatán where you have access to everything except the restaurants. I have to say the staff was very efficient, friendly, and always available at all the restaurants, poolside and bar keeping everything clean with friendly prompt service. Pool temp was great. Food was above average. If you stay all day at the Tequila everything is a 3-5 minute walk away no matter where you are. The only reason this won’t be our go to resort is the amount of kids. It’s a wonderful resort but for our preference there were far too many kids. We did love our stay tho!
