However, communication from the host was a major issue. The day before our stay, the host messaged asking how many cars we would have and expected an immediate response, despite it being during work hours and with our group traveling from multiple states. We were told we “didn’t have time to figure it out,” which was frustrating. This also turned out to involve an additional fee that was not clearly or obviously stated upfront.After that message, there was essentially zero communication for the remainder of the stay.There were several maintenance and comfort concerns. The smoke alarm appeared to be broken. The house makes frequent settling noises, which may be normal but was noticeable. Heating took over two hours to warm the house, and the upstairs became significantly hotter than the downstairs. The pool table was located in the garage, which was unexpected.Basic supplies were lacking. There were not enough trash bags or paper towels provided. No towels were supplied, and there were no instructions left regarding what to do with bedding at checkout. Some kitchen items were quite worn and have seen better days.Trash removal was inconvenient. We had to load trash into our car and drive it to the main building, where we waited in a long line. The location itself was not ideal, roughly 25 minutes from most nearby activities or destinations.The pizza recommendation from the host was fair, but overall the stay did not meet expectations.
