a piece of paradise

Beautiful traditional family house. Amazing views. Lovely pool. I swam most days. Peaceful setting that we did not want to leave. Stayed for a month!. Giorgio and his sister were very helpful. Well stocked kitchen. We fell in love with Poggio Mirteto town. We had lovely walks, visited hill towns . Enjoyed Marmore falls and Narni in particular.. Easy access to train station in 20 minutes. Umberto on hand next door if there is a problem. Bliss....

The property was amazing the pool was big and we had lots of fun there the owners were so helpful and friendly the local town was close and had everything you need restaurants and local shoes etc. the views were superb Rome is only an hour drive perfect place we will be returning at some point thankyou

Fabulous holiday

We were blown away by the incredible view upon arrival and the pool was glorious. Giorgio was incredibly attentive to our every need - answering our queries immediately, providing local information he thought might be of interest and providing things we needed within minutes! The house is full of lovely artworks, we especially liked the watercolour paintings. We had a truly special holiday, thank you Giorgio.

Beautiful villa in the hills outside Rome

We had a wonderful time at Giorgio's place. We are 3 friends who stayed for the month of September and enjoyed every moment of our stay. Livia and Girogio were so friendly and made sure we had everything we could need - Giorgio very kindly kept the swimming pool open into October for us! The house is even more beautiful than the photographs and in a lovely, quiet area with spectacular views of the Sabine Hills and Rome. The kitchen is fully equipped, with three lovely bedrooms and two bathrooms made this the perfect space for us and the few friends that came to visit. While a car is essential, the local train station in Poggio Mirteto Scalo (about a 15/20 minute drive) meant that getting into Rome was easy and cheap. I highly recommend the area and Giorgio's place - thank you so much!

Livia & son Giorgio couldn’t have been more helpful & kind especially when we had car rental problems at Rome airport. Their home is a lovely peaceful place for a retreat, a good time to relax. Stunning views - plus a lovely pool.

A wonderful holiday home

This is a beautiful spacious house, surrounded by a large private garden with stunning countryside views, equipped with everything you could need for a comfortable stay. A real home from home! There is a large swimming pool, many seating areas and two dining tables outside – you really are spoilt for choice. Everything is obviously well maintained and very well looked after, the furnishings are very comfortable and tasteful and there are lots of personal touches. There were only two of us staying, but the property is easily big enough for eight people. The house is in a lovely rural location, which is very peaceful and relaxing, but you are also well located for local shops and restaurants. If you want to explore further afield, the gardens in Tivoli are about an hour away by car and Rome is easily accessible in 45 minutes by train from Poggio Mirteto station (we found it easiest to book tickets at www.thetrainline.com as tickets are then immediately available on your phone). We caught the train to Tiburtina station in Rome and then used the underground Metro to both the Colosseum and Vatican City stops (Metro tickets can be bought at Tiburtina station from the ticket machine near the platform). We must say a big thank you to Giorgio who met us on arrival and also provided lots of useful information prior to our holiday. We absolutely loved our stay and did not want to leave!

Our stay in Italy

We've had an all around great time in this beautiful property. It was clean, had everything we needed and was situated in a beautiful location. The pool was great to cool off on the hot days, as well as the shady area right next to it. There are 3 full bedrooms and one sleeping couch on the sitting area upstairs. We had hoped for 4 full bedrooms, but could manage with just the three. The patios outside are placed in a way that one of them is always in the shade, while one is sunny. Very nice for some breakfast outside without getting too hot. There is always a nice breeze and there are fans all over the house if you need them. The shops are very close by and there are lots of little towns near by that you can visit and look at. Rome is just an hour away and a perfect day trip. When one of the windows broke during a big thunder storm Livia helped us right away and organised for a glass maker to fix it for us. One thing we could suggest is, that if you're travelling by car, you follow the coordinates provided by the host, as it is quite difficult for non-natives of Italy to find the house just by adress or directions. But other than that it is quite easy to find with a navigation system, the road there are, while a bit pot-holey, quite nice and offer a great view of the hills. All in all a great stay and we will definitely try to come back one day! Thank you to Livia and her family for making our stay go as smoothly as it did!

Lovely house in beautiful location and great pool

Spacious house for 6-8 people in olive grove close to a couple of medieval hill villages with restaurants (walkable) and a little shop (2 miles). Need insect repellent and spray in the summer months! Rome & Tivoli an hours drive and Lake Bolsena has a wonderful swimming beach (head for Marta). Owner Giorgio welcoming and helpful.

Fabulous villa set in stunning countryside

We had a brilliant holiday and will definitely be coming back to stay again in the future. The villa is simply fantastic with plenty of space throughout the three large double-bedrooms and the views from the master bedroom balcony are breathtaking. Everything that you could possibly need has been provided and it is lovely eating outside under the vine canopy at the front of the villa with views over the rolling Italian countryside. The swimming pool is great and kept us cool during the hot afternoons - we couldn't keep our 5 year old daughter out of the pool! The villa is located 15mins drive from the town of Poggio Mirteto which is a bustling countryside town with plenty of places to eat and a wonderful Gelatario next to the Post Office - there are a wide variety of shops in the town including an fresh pasta shop (well worth trying their many different pastas) and a pharmacist which we had to use a few times due to my wife suffering from a throat infection; the pharmacy staff were very helpful and spoke decent English. The villa is located in peaceful countryside but you can easily get to Rome from the train station at Poggio Mirteto Scalo which is 20mins drive from the villa and gets you to Rome in just over an hour; the station cafe sells train tickets and you can get a return train ticket with combined all-day Rome Metro and Bus travel for less than £10 and children travel free. We enjoyed two excellent days in Rome and really appreciated not having to drive into the City Centre! There are a number of supermarkets in Poggio Mirteto but we found the 'Coop' to stock everything we needed and it is open every day from 8am to 8pm except for Sunday's when it open from 8am to 1pm... We had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday and would highly recommend a trip to Lake Bracciano (about 1.5hrs drive each way) which is a stunning freshwater lake great for swimming and relaxing. We drove to the town of Bracciano and had a great lunch and spent the afternoon at the beach with a pedalo ride and ice cream! Driving from Rome FCO Airport takes around 2hrs and is relatively straight forward but be aware that the journey involves toll roads (these only cost a few euros) and it is advisable to have a sat-nab to aid the journey. We cannot recommend highly enough the villa and the owners who welcomed us personally to the villa (showing us the way from Poggio Mirteto) and left us in peace the entire holiday. We had a wonderful holiday in beautiful surroundings, which far exceeded expectations! The house is spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. The garden is delightful with fruit trees in abundance. The pool area is much bigger than the photograph shows and the sun was on it until 7.30 pm. I would definitely return .

Wir hatten eine wunderbare Woche mit Freunden und unseren Kindern im Haus von Giorgio. Das Haus liegt wunderschön umgeben von Olivenbäumen mit einem traumhaften Ausblick auf die umliegede Landschaft. Es hat einen wunderbaren Flair und ist super ausgestattet. Der Pool bietet eine herrliche Abkühlung und wir hatten wunderbare Abende auf der schönen Terasse. Auszeit vom Alltagsstress

Wir waren für 4 Tage in dem Häusschen, wo man eine wunderschöne Aussicht genießen konnte. Der Check-in verlief reibungslos. Wir wurden durch das Haus geführt und haben alles erklärt bekommen. Die Küchenausstattung war völlig in Ordnung. Es war sogar ein Grill vorhanden. Der WLAN Empfang war hervorragend. Bis zum nächsten Supermarkt musste man ca. 10 Minuten fahren. Unser Check-out um 3 Uhr nachts konnte ohne Probleme stattfinden.

Exceptionnelle location dans la campagne traditionnelle italienne

La maison est typique et fonctionnelle. Le cadre…une vue à couper le souffle, la piscine est magnifique au milieu des oliviers. Des brasseurs d’air dans toute les chambres seraient parfait. Nous avons adoré séjourner dans ce havre de paix. Une maison unique avec des nombreux détails et décorations personnelles et artistiques. Schöner Aufenthalt vor den Toren Roms

Wir haben als Familie mit 6 Personen 2 Wochen in diesem geräumigen Haus verbracht und uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Haus hat zwei Bäder, jeweils mit Dusche + WC, drei geräumige Schlafzimmer sowie eine zum Wohnzimmer offene Galerie mit Schlafsofa. Für die nötige Erfrischung bei den hochsommerlichen Temperaturen sorgt der gepflegte Pool. Wir genossen die Liegen im Schatten der Bäume und die absolute Ruhe. Der Garten im Olivenhain ist sehr schön angelegt, überall findet man duftende Rosmarinsträucher sowie Salbei und Thymian. Mit den beiden Terrassen am Haus findet man immer einen Platz im Schatten. Vom ganzen Grundstück hat man wunderbare Aussichten in die reizvolle Landschaft und sieht am Abend die erleuchteten Ausläufer von Rom. Nach Rom fährt man am besten mit dem Zug von Poggio Mirteto bis Rom Tiburtina. Von da aus kann man den örtlichen Nahverkehr nutzen. Alles in allem hatten wir einen sehr schönen Urlaub und kommen vielleicht einmal wieder.

wat een heerlijke woning en plek

heerlijk groot huis, mooie plek waarbij je vanaf de berg een prachtig uitzicht hebt. Grote tuin en een heerlijk zwembad wat veel meer open is dan of de foto's. In werkelijkheid is het veel beter dan op de foto's. De host is bijzonder vriendelijk. Dank voor een heerlijke week.

Wunderbarer Aufenhalt in Natur

Wir waren zwei wochenlang mit unseren zwei Kindern und unserem Hund in dem Landhaus. Wir haben jeden Augenblick genossen. Das Haus war sehr schön eingerichtet und gepflegt. Das Anwesen ist ca. 50 km von Rom entfernt. Besonders gefallen hat uns die Lage. Mann ist in der Natur und ist aber doch 50 km von Rom entfernt. Zwei Wochen nach dem Urlaub sind wir immer noch von dem Landhaus begeistert. Selbst die Kinder hatten in der Natur ihren Spass.

Großes Landhaus mit überragender Aussicht

Wir haben die Unterkunft für 5 Tage für einen Golfausflug unter Freunden gebucht. Das Haus ist sehr groß, mit 3 getrennten Schlafzimmern und 2 Bädern, was für unsere Gruppe ideal war. Alles war makellos sauber. Wir haben die großzügige Terrasse mit der tollen Aussicht über die römischen Hügel ausgiebig genutzt. Die Kommunkation mit Giorgio lief schnell und unkompliziert. Danke für die schönen Tage.
