Lovekin Cabin | Peaceful Forest Retreat in Walker, AZ
Tucked away in the tall pines of Walker, Arizona, Lovekin Cabin offers a peaceful mountain escape just 13 miles (about a 25-minute drive) from the charm, dining, and shopping of downtown Prescott. Named after the historic Lovekin Lode surveyed in 1929, this cabin blends a touch of local history with the comfort of a newer build (2008), giving you the best of both worlds.
This inviting 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom cabin comfortably accommodates up to 6 guests and is ideal for families, couples, or small groups looking to unwind in nature.
The upstairs primary suite features a queen bed and a private en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower, offering a quiet retreat. On the main level, two additional bedrooms each include a queen bed and share a full bathroom with a tub/shower combination. Fresh linens, towels, and essentials are all provided for a seamless stay.
The open-concept living space is warm and welcoming, with a comfortable leather sofa and a large flat-screen smart TV—perfect for relaxing after a day outdoors. The dining table seats six and is great for meals, games, or gathering together. The fully equipped kitchen includes all cookware, dishes, and utensils you’ll need, whether you're preparing a quick breakfast or a full dinner.
Step outside onto the spacious wrap-around deck to take in the beauty of the surrounding national forest. Enjoy your morning coffee or evening glass of wine with outdoor seating and a propane fire pit for added ambiance. The peaceful setting offers frequent wildlife sightings, including deer and javelina, and occasionally more elusive animals like bobcats, coyotes, and even bear—please store food properly and never feed wildlife.
For outdoor dining, a propane grill is available. Inside, you’ll find all the conveniences of home, including Wi-Fi, central heating, a washer and dryer, and a dishwasher to make your stay easy and comfortable.
Please note: Lovekin Cabin does not have air conditioning. Thanks to its higher elevation and shaded forest setting, temperatures are typically mild, though occasional summer heat waves can occur.
Getting here is part of the adventure. The final 1.3 miles are on a dirt road, which may be challenging for low-clearance vehicles. In winter weather, four-wheel drive or chains may be necessary. For those bringing ATVs or off-road vehicles, the surrounding area offers excellent riding opportunities—just be mindful of the quiet, residential nature of the community.
Whether you're seeking a quiet weekend getaway or an extended stay in the cool pines, Lovekin Cabin is a hidden gem where you can relax, recharge, and reconnect with nature.
