Overall we really enjoyed our stay at this property. Unfortunately we didn’t receive all the amenities that we were supposed to like our fridge being stocked with beverages daily and had to ask for our complimentary robes but hey, we can’t really complain because all the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating and the property was very beautiful and well maintained. We’re not really buffet fans but the specialty restaurants were amazing and the nightly shows and other entertainers were fantastic! We would definitely recommend this resort and will most likely return for another visit in the future.

Let me tell you what I LOVE! The staff especially Rene, Alan, Samuel, Jasmine and the week day chef who made me a tres leches cake fory birthday and the staff sang Happy birthday. This place is amazing and we are planning to return. I already suggested to my niece that they should honeymoon here. Is it possible to give a 10 star review? Because they deserve it!!

Doesn't tell you that you need to pay for the games room. Premium lounge was nice to have, but the snacks there look like they have sitting there all day, we never got the bottle of sparkling wine they advertise, even after mentioning it to the concierge.

Our stay at Barceló was amazing, my family and I really enjoyed our stay. The staff were very attentive, the food was great. In all honesty this resort will be recommended to all my family and friends . 10/10 don’t forget to make reservations for all the restaurants they have for dinner. The buffet is open every day with no reservations needed.But they have certain restaurants that you need to reserve for your party.

We had a party of 11 and with everyone reading mixed reviews on the food some were discouraged, but we all went. We actually liked the food for the most part, and nobody got sick. Pur only complaint would be some of the management that wouldnt budge on things like accepting 1 more person on the special dining and some of the rules were kind of harsh aswell. But overall we had a great time. Thx

I’ve experienced several hotels that’s provide your bracelet as soon as you arrive even though your room isn’t ready, Barcelo made us wait for us to get our bracelet until 3pm when our room was ready. Definitely will not be using them again. Traveling all day and night for us to not be able to enjoy as soon as we get there. Unprofessional!

Staff were rude, dismissive and didn’t care about my concerns. Ie, AC hardly worked, water was not coming out of shower head but the ceiling, dirty room and gnats in our room. The shower head was fixed but nothing else. VERY warm in bathroom. Couldn’t get ready in it. There were 11 of us and none of us felt very welcome as Americans. I will never come to this resort again.

I'll start with the things we liked as a family. The pools are great, the bigger one is for everyone, there is a medium pool only for adults, and a small one for toddlers. Clean and a lot of sunbeds (we figure). The rooms are big. We didn't get a room upgrade via Expedia gold even though we asked. The food is okay, nothing spectacular. The service in the buffets is good, all the waiters are very nice. Check in was fast and the manager did give us a bracelet upgrade to premium via Expedia gold. The ac in the rooms is excellent. Now, the things we didn't like: The hotel is marked as a 5 star hotel, it's not. At the pools the music was old and too loud, the first days they had only 2 front speakers that the pumped them up as much as they could, some days later they installed speakers all around the pool, you can't even hear someone talking to you near the speakers. We had a slight problem with a big group of people that came from Dominican republic (so rude) every morning they reserved sun beds, one morning they even removed me from mine. I did moved just to not make a scene of front of my family. Talk to the manager about this, nothing happened. The specialty restaurants were a joke. The food is the same all over. Ice cream machines were most of the time out of service. Room service was limited with frozen burgers and cheap ham for sandwiches. The rooms are old, clean but old. Also, the private beach is not private, there are a lot of small boats and people from all around.

Location is far from the main town but the views are well worth it, just be ready for a 30-45 minute uber everywhere else you decide to go It is a beautiful resort, definitely more family oriented. The food at the buffet was a hit or miss. Breakfast was always good but lunch and dinner was always a surprise. As far as the a la carte restaurants go we only got to try two of them and it wasn’t hard making reservations. The Japanese one was terrible but the Spanish one was phenomenal.
