The rooms need maintenance. AC was not working properly, Mini fridge not working ok. Roaches in the room. Humidity smell in the rooms. The crew that suppose to animate were kinda off which made it kind of boring. Other than that drinks , food and the pool were great.

My toilet was clogged, i called multiple times and they dont pick up the phone. Always busy and never picked up, the buffet food is bad, limited, the snack bar is terrible raw hot dogs and same food for 3 days. We couldn't make reservations for any restaurants because they were booked for the n3xt 3 days. So i got there and i had to eat at the buffet everyday. The gave me this guy name soni and he didn't even responded my text msgs. Never saw him.

The chef making omelets for breakfast at the buffet on Sunday 17/08/25, was completely rude, ignorant, and a liar. He skipped my husband in line to flirt with the lady behind him and when it was my turn, he used one egg for my omelet and everyone else got 2. The lady behind me asked for 3 and he made it without an issue. I’m not sure why my husband and I were the unlucky ones. When I asked him about my omelet, he lied and said that he did use 2 eggs and that I probably just didn’t see him. However, they cook in front of us and there is no way I missed that as I watched the entire time. The size difference between my omelet and the person in front of me was very obvious. The bar tenders at the nightclub working on Friday 15/08/25 never took our drink order. There were 3 bar tenders in which they should have spread out and served people from all sides of the bar but all 3 of them were focused on one end of the bar only. Their casino only had a couple of slot machines to play, all other tables were being advertised yet they were closed our entire stay. They also advertised a Mario bros show one night. Everyone showed up to the theatre with their children and they put on an inappropriate Vegas show instead. No apologies were given nor explanation for the switch. As far as food, some days were good and others were bad. They didn’t have kid friendly food. Overall some staff members were nice but some were rude. Their kids club area was also closed. It was ok but wouldn’t stay again

As soon as we did the check in every ting was ok. Arriving to the room, has a lot of humidity odor, the front door was crakc that I can see to the outside. The ac wasn't working proper. The pool I never saw someone racking or cleaning. Chunks of food, plastic glases a lot of trash everywhere. The disco no ac, bad odors and not a good service at the bar. The Sunday the day of the check out every body traits you bad. Over all for the money is a 4 of 10.

The staff makes a face when you ask them something, they dint want to help you. The rooms had little air conditioner that barely worked. The water of the showers didnt have enough pressure. The buffet didn’t have a lot of variety of foods and it was the same thing over and over again, plus the floor in the buffet is really slippery that my grandma fell and broke her wrist and the hotel didnt want to be responsible for the hospital bill as a courtesy! I went to punta cana last year to a different hotel and it was amazing! Nothing compared to this one, i would never go back there.

The property looked great from the outside. We had ants in our room every day and had to call multiple times. I had to call housekeeping every day in order to clean towels every day. Our keys deactivated every day. The staff was very rude. When we asked for service, it was an inconvenience for them to have to do their job. There were about five members of the staff that were an absolute delight including Ana at the bar, our concierge Luz, and David.

This was our Honeymoon vacation, we stayed for 7 days and it was great. Lots of questionable reviews but in our Premium Suite it was spotless and excellent AC. Food was ok and always had plenty to eat, only thing is the quality is sometimes lower depending on the night/culture of the food that evening (always an excellent pizzeria available with no reservation needed). This resort has the best beach I have seen anywhere in Punta Cana, minimal to no rocks and clean blue water. Don't let the bad reviews scare you away, our experience could not have been better traveling to the Dominican Republic. Friendly staff that always makes sure you have a full drink, English was pretty tough to come by but always can get our point across. Bring plenty of American bills when you travel here, they go much further than pesos. Honest review was at least 8.5/10

Occidental Caribe is a beautiful resort with a lot of activities. The staff are nice, though they had difficulties understanding English, they did their best to serve us. The food was good with a lot of international options that changed every day. The snack bar was awesome, and the fresh fruits were the best. This place will be even better if they renovate the rooms, as they are old and don't look clean, though the staff cleaned them every day. I still recommend this resort, which is best for families. Bonus: we had Juan Carlo, who was just a message away and very helpful with everything.

Our vacation has been good. Expedia and your on premise associates helped make it a special celebration of our anniversary ❤️ As for the hotel, I am impressed with how well it's maintained. The grounds are impeccable. The food is okay, not great. The staff is a mixed bag of those who offer great customer service and those who appear to not want to be here. We believe we received a good value for the money we spent, but probably would not return in the future.

The grounds of this hotel are gorgeous and beautiful. Very well kept and maintained. Tons of chairs at the beach and pool area. The pools were very nice and the beach wasn’t a far walk from the pools. However, the restaurant policy was not good. This is in part because upon arrival, we went to make reservations for the restaurants and were told that being we were there for 6 days we were only allowed 2 restaurant reservations, which is NOT stated on their website or on Orbitz. They wanted us to eat the buffet every night. If we had known this, we wouldn’t have booked this place just on that principle alone. Also, to get a reservation you needed to wake up at 7am and then guest services said all restaurants were booked anyway and were put on a waiting list and needed to check back at 2pm, 3pm and 6pm to see if there were any “cancellations”. This was our vacation, we shouldn’t have had to wake up at 7am every day to see if we could eat in a restaurant and then check back 2-3 times a day. Every single day. This policy was idiotic and all staff said this was the occidental caribe’s policy, but I never found this policy on the website and they couldn’t provide it in written form. So, if you don’t mind eating buffet every night then this hotel was for you.

Estuvo en este resort celebrants el cumpleaños de mi esposo y nuestra stadia fue por sure dias, desde que llegamos nos dieron una bienvenida muy cariñosa y especial . Un empleado llamado Clifort nos asistio con mucho espero y amabilidad todo el tiempo tambien el señor Juan Carlos nuestro mayordomo nos ayudo en todo momento y siempre estuvo a sus ordenes cuando lo nesecitamos el Juan Carlos realmente es un empleado ejemplar y muy profesional me ayudo con la preparacion del cumpleaños de mi esposo asi como tambien lo dió todo para que nuestra estadia en Occidental Caribe fuera inolbidablemente hermosa. Gracias a Cindy la mayordomo por su cervicio excelente y profesional. A todo el staff gracias por tanto amor y cervicio exelente. Quiero gradecer a Melvin el cocinero del restaurant Japones por su exelente trabajo y su gran cervicio para con nosotros. Gracias a todos y nos vemos pronto si Dios asi lo permite…… desde New York Carmen y Neftali.

The hotel is nice, bed was comfortable They could have more entertainment. There was a Michael Jackson show and a live band that was amazing. A display in the main lobby of where and when they would have live music would have been great. Food was not great, other than the Spanish paella and Japanese restaurant. Staff was ok. The biggest area of opportunity is making the check in process faster. After waiting 2 hours in line at the airport, we waited in line 1 hour in the heat to check in.

The Resort looks good from the outside. Pool areas are good. The staff is OK. The waitresses are great and that's what makes this resort more enjoyable. Is a 3 star resort and that's being generous. The rooms are horrible (if you travel and you've seen hotels). We changed rooms 3 times!!!... First, the A/C wasn't working properly. Second, toilet wouldn't flush properly and finally the third room was OK compared to the other ones but the bathtub wouldn't drain properly at all. I chopped at piece of my big toe in their pool, inside the pool, (yes, you read it right, chopped) and I had the worst experience after that because they don't freaking care. I made the best of this terrible experience and tried to enjoy it because it was a destination vacation but i would never stay there again or recomend it.
