As much as we’d like to leave a 5 star review because of the kindness of the staff, the property condition, the smell and the poor dining options won’t allow it. PEOPLE - The people were very helpful. Check in was easy and convenient. The housekeeping team was delightful and left fresh flowers in our room ROOM - We had two rooms. One for my wife and one for our older kids. We had bugs. We asked to change rooms but the property was sold out. Other customers we met on the trip had similar concerns. There was a constant mildew smell in both room that was offset just outside our door by the kitchen grease smell. The shower in the kids room had a constant loud squeal when the water was on. The sheets on the bed was just a fitted and top sheet. No duvet. No comforter. TARGET CUSTOMER - The RIU Palace Punta Cana resort is for adults seeking a college spring break environment. The main pool area has constant loud music with drunk adults from 11am to 8pm when it closes. There are foam parties at night and all the things that come with that from spring break. FOOD - La Isabella is the main buffet dining venue. Breakfast is the same menu every day. Our family rated it as below average. However, the dinner there is exceptional. The menu rotates nightly and was one of our favorite experiences. - The Sports Bar is the only 24 hour dining venue and never changes its food offerings. This all-inclusive was exactly what we were looking for! I highly recommend booking the transportation to and from the airport. Not once did I feel unsafe both on and off the resort. We decided on the buggy and snorkeling package as an excursion which was also one heck of an experience, working with locals who were incredibly helpful!

Property was great, small but included to the other RIU hotels so access to a lot. The restaurants were okay, we decided to eat at the buffet majority of the times. Be mindful it is not adults only when booking, a lot of kids and families which not a bad thing but good to know before booking. Service and people were great! Made some good friends there as well

Room was dirty sheets weren’t changed and honestly I asked for 2 beds couldn’t sleep on sofa bed had bugs and was very dirty had to ask housekeeping to clean more then once and ask for things to be constantly clean even tho they claimed to be cleaned . Food was alright staff was ok. The electrician just came in room with out knocking told him next time knock he was a bit rude.

Our room smelled like sewage and they kept filling the toilet brush holder with really strong cleaning solution to mask it, after I kept dumping it every day. The smell was so bad that my eyes were burning. The cleaning solution smells where through the building you could smell it everywhere. The food was okay massive amounts of food and choices. The staff was amazing!!

I didn’t like the food. There’s no options for people who don’t eat pork. I suggest they have fish for morning breakfast throughout the day. The room was clean however the roaches were unacceptable. The staff was great.
