I chose this location primarily for its close proximity to my daughter's dormitory, making it an ideal choice for convenience. The hotel itself may not be the epitome of luxury, but the level of service here is nothing short of extraordinary. The staff consistently goes above and beyond, demonstrating a remarkable commitment to guest satisfaction. They are not just helpful; they exude courtesy, respect, and warmth that makes every interaction a pleasure. Each morning, I eagerly anticipate the breakfast spread, which is a delightful experience in itself. The offerings are always fresh and bursting with flavor, featuring an abundance of ripe, succulent fruits and a diverse array of delectable options. My personal favorite has to be the homemade yogurt—it's irresistibly creamy, crafted right on-site, and has a richness that lingers on the palate. It's these little touches that truly elevate the stay and make it memorable.will definitely come back the next time am in town to visit my baby girl.

It is what it is.

Reasonable for Reading, while basic in decor it is what you can expect for the price, the staff are all really friendly and helpful to a fault. Always stay here as it represents value in my opinion, great parking and easy access to the town. 20 mins to the centre.

The sink system does not sink, the ceiling does not look right and the paint is chipped. Extremely small furniture like table chair and everything. The housekeeper knocking the door like I owed her money, I told her I need more time to prepare to leave and she was keep knocking, terrible experience. I won’t come here again.

This hotel did the job and the staff were friendly and approachable. More maintenance needed as a heritage property, not modern. Gym not inviting. Haddock on the breakfast menu but never available :( Continental breakfast not great either.

Good service helped this basic, tired hotel. Looks though it may have been great in the 1990’s. In saying that, it’s fairly priced, cheap even and the customer service is good. It also gets additional praise for the one tap bar ( fosters ). Ok for work digs, don’t take the Mrs.

Loved the architecture of this place. It is old so has its issues, but the rooms i was in were newly remodeled. The first room had some plumbing issues I brought to their attention immediately but it was Christmas and the next day way Boxing day so told them I understood if someone wasn't available right away but I never saw or heard from anyone and by the third day the issue spread from just the bathroom sink to all drains. So i had to bug them again and they had me move to a new room and gave me free breakfastvouchers for the remainder of my stay. I moved into the new room and didnt end up staying there that night and came back to the heater dripped water and soaked one of my shoes, it was the newest remodeled room but obviously still working out some issues. They offered to move me rooms again and i declined. The heater was working and i was able to dry my shoe on the bathroom heater by the time i was leaving. Staff was always very nice and attempted to keep making my stay a good one. I only used 1 of the 3 breakfast vouchers but the food was great and lots of fresh stuff at the buffet part of the breakfast.

Brilliant place to stay for family of 4 adults! Even had a microwave and fridge in the room, and plates and bowls and cutlery. Wasn’t expecting that! Really good value for money with 3 proper beds (not sofa beds)! Would definitely recommend. Really friendly guy checked us in.

Service from Katy at check in was incredible very helpful, chatty and smiley. Room was too small for a family room, heating on full with no way to adjust down made the room incredibly hot and uncomfortable. Overall room dated and in need of maintenance. To be fair to Katy she did offer to move us following feedback however it was late at that point and the child was asleep. Sure/best western id say are competing with travel lodge and premier inn and unfortunately for the same sort of prices this property does not compete. Service great let down by property.
