The area around the property was nice. However, bed sheets were stained, room was filthy and covered with black mold. The owner was extremely rude.

Biggest bang for your buck

Whether you are at the beach for a getaway or here on business and just want a no-frills hotel just to lay your head at the end of the night, this is the place. I come to town a lot for business, and I spend my days visiting clients. At the end of the day I just want a place to sleep. I don't need a bar (there are plenty within walking distance), a pool (the ocean is a block away), or other amenities that would be needed where I travel elsewhere. If you're looking for the same - a place to just sleep at a decent price - look nowhere else. The price is seriously half of what the cheapest hotels charge, but don't expect a hair dryer, iron, free breakfast, coffee in the lobby or anything else. As I stated above, this is a place with zero frills. However, even though the price may suggest, this is not a cheap roach-infested motel or a place that's been run down to bare bones minimum by a family from India. It's VERY clean! It's not super modern, but it is adequate. The owner is very friendly, compassionate, and accommodating - everything you would expect from a front desk person but much more personable. He's an everyday beach guy so don't expect someone to come out with a suit and tie. This isn't the Hilton and not intended to be. It is the best place to stay in town for the money.

I was expecting a no-frills experience but not the level of simple neglect that made this place so dreary (and unhealthy). It takes no money and little effort to clean the window AC filters so mold isn't blown into the room, or sweep away dead leaves and cob webs near the ice machine, or put away the trash cans, metal bed frame and box spring that were blocking the entrance to the first floor apartments all weekend. Also, the moldy AC units triggered my asthma, so we left early and stayed with friends. Great location and very affordable but I'd think twice or three times before booking here again without inspecting if management has taken action to do basic maintenance.

There was no proper lock on the room door, and the air conditioner was duct taped to the window, the sheets were dirty from the previous patron. I ended up not staying because I didn’t feel safe and I did not want to talk to the owner about getting my money back because he was very unpleasant.

Overall a very pleasant and convenient stay, although it was odd to have nobody around when I came in to check in (they did have the materials though and I did not need to do anything major). The owner, from the few times I spoke to him, was pleasant as well. Only drawback was that I heard somebody playing a trumpet one night and lots of chatter the next, but otherwise a nice place to stay.

This place has mold growing on the ceiling in the bathroom. The front desk man was very rude about parking. There was melted chocolate in the twin bed and a toe nail clipping in the double bed.

Facts are facts and here are the facts. Not family friendly, Very cheap for location, Dirty old building not well maintained 1 - Location for $120 a night, 3-5 min walk to beach and boardwalk. 2- Owner, once you get past the fact the guy is an a$$hole, has some pretty interesting stories to tell. Just act like you give a sh!t and he will tell you all about different places he has been. 3 - Bring a gun, its an open carry state. You'll need it to stay here. 4 - Bugs everywhere. Old building, building falling apart 5 - Dont expect much from A/C units. Mold covered and dont work very well 6 - Bring your own bedding. You dont want to sleep in the hotel issued bedding. Not clean, sandy, moldy, stain covered. 7 - Look up parking even if you paid the hotel for it. Owner doesnt care about you getting a parking ticket. Look up where to park and just for it your self. It will save you a 30 dollar + parking ticket. 8 - Local places to eat do not like to deliver here after 10pm. Many places like Grottos Pizza down right refused to deliver food here after dark. 9 - You are getting what you paid for. This is a hotel ( should be a flop house/hostel ) 1 block from the beach and boardwalk. never pay more than $75 per night for this. 10 - Does make for one heck of a story if you make it out alive. --- Dont stay here unless you know what your doing ---

I had rented for one night here due to an unexpected extension of our vacation. I knew that based on the price it would be basic and expected what I paid for. However, when I went to check in, I was greeted by a hanging roll of fly paper rather than a human. When I did check in, I was given a key and told that I needed to flip the breakers on myself. The room was meant to be non smoking, and had a non smoking sign on the door, but I was met with an overwhelming smell of smoke when I entered. There were cigarette butts between the windows and screens as well as bunched up dirty tissues. Even after flipping the breakers, the bedroom lights didn't turn on. There were squirrels running through the hallways of the property. Given the smoke and the fire hazard, it was unsafe for my kids to be in. When I approached the front desk, there was no response beyond "ok, bye" I took the loss on the booking amount just to get my children somewhere safe. Please avoid this place at all costs.

The hotel is very run down. The apartment we stayed in had one double bed and one futon. It claimed to have two double beds. It did not. There was a lot of wear and tear on the room itself. The futon was very uncomfortable. The room itself was clean. They provided clean sheets and towels and pillows. The apartment had a fridge, stove and microwave in the kitchenette. There is no parking except street parking.

Everything was covered in dust. Sheets and towels were stained. Luckily I was only staying here for one night. The doors also did not have a deadbolt lock which I found to be strange. If you just need a bed and a shower it is adequate. I asked if there was wifi and I got a response of "yes" with no details... okay. Pretty sure the shower curtain and AC unit had mold in/on them. Absolutely no parking! On me, I arrived later than I had hoped but the hotel only had maybe 5 spaces available but were taken and all the street and meter parking was of course full, it took me over an hour to find a parking space after I checked in, lugging all my stuff in was not pleasant. Shower took forever to get hot but I was glad it was a hot shower.
