I was shocked to find that this is a 5 star hotel for which we paid 650 CAD per day and another 100 CAD in destination fees PER DAY. The room was VERY small. The in-room ambiance was worse than a 3 star hotel in any other city in the world. The bed was uncomfortable, bathroom was tiny.. perhaps even a bit dated.. Only exception was staff - they were outstanding.. and the location was fantastic.

Exceptional throughout

This is a real gem of a hotel. The service is exceptional throughout from the spa, bars and restaurants. Nothing is ever problem and the staff are genuine. They go above and beyond to help. The food at the tides restaurant is definitely worthy of its Michelin recommendation. I would definitely recommend the al a carte selection for breakfast - the langoustine bennidict was beyond amazing.

We spent one night in Rekyavik, The Edition was in a perfect spot. Walking distance to the town, had all the modern amenities you could ask for. The lobby bar was a nice place to hang out for a bit before heading out for the evening. Breakfast was not included and was very expensive. Overall a pleasant experience.

We had a wonderful stay at the Reykjavík Edition. We had a deluxe room with harbour view - it was spacious and comfortable, and we looked out onto the concert hall which was really pretty. The hotel’s decor is stylish and there are lots of different spaces to relax and enjoy a drink. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we booked a wonderful trip to the Golden Circle through them. Dinner at Tides was delicious and the spa (after a long day walking) was the perfect way to end a day. You can sign up at reception for a wake up call if the northern lights become visible - I thought this was a nice touch.
