Description
Villa dell Mosaico is a charming villa located in the municipality of Rignano sull'Arno, in the Chianti area and only half an hour by car from Florence. It is characterized by a high historical value as in the past it was the summer residence of the Italian physicist Enrico Fermi (Nobel Prize 1938). Surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, fruit trees and a park with centuries-old trees, the villa boasts a private garden with hand-made solid wood tables, barbecue and a splendid view of the surrounding countryside. The outdoor spaces are embellished by a private swimming pool (6 x 4 m) with parasol, deckchairs and sunbeds. Near the villa there is also a working farm managed by the same owners which produce oil and wine. Inside the farm you will find several animals. Moreover, on request it is possible to visit the cellar and taste their own wine.

Villa del Mosaico is located in the municipality of Rignano sull'Arno, in the area of Chianti and just half an hour by car from Florence. This area boasts a rich artistic and architectural heritage (including several churches, parishes, museums of sacred art and the Sammezzano Castle, notable for its Moorish Revival architectural style and its wide park). Rignano sull'Arno is located only 6 km from the villa and here you will find all necessary services: grocery stores, post office, bank/ATM, pharmacy, bars, restaurants, supermarket. Among the natural treasures, you will find: the forest of Vallombrosa (a biogenetic nature reserve rich in conifer woods, hosting an extraordinary abbey of Benedictine monks) and the forest of St. Anthony (a protected nature area of local interest, covering 900 hectares). The forest of Vallombrosa has one of the most famous experimental arboretum of Europe, containing about 3200 exemplars of 1200 different species coming from all over the world. This area has several marked hiking paths and nature itineraries that can be explored on mountain bike, on foot, or on horseback. The proximity to the Chianti Classico region - known worldwide for the prestigious wine - allows you to visit its charming villages such as Gaiole, Radda and Castellina. Arezzo and Siena are also easily reachable by car. Lastly, if you love shopping, we recommend a visit to The Mall Outlet (8 km), where you can find the most important brands of international fashion.

The property, set on 2 floors and elegantly furnished, can accommodate up to 12+2 people for a total of 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
Ground floor: The ground floor is dedicated to the living area consisting of: three living rooms with sofa, fireplace and tv, and a spacious kitchen (equipped with breakfast table, fridge, oven, coffee maker, dishwasher, toaster and microwave). Following you will find two double bedrooms: one with four-poster bed and bathroom with shower; the other one with a small balcony and bathroom with shower. First floor: The upper floor, accessible by a wooden staircase, is dedicated to the sleeping area, consisting of 4 double bedrooms divided as follows: - a large double bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower, a double sofa bed and air conditioning; - a large double bedroom with air conditioning (when the physicist Enrico Fermi stayed); - two smaller double bedrooms without air conditioning. These last 3 bedrooms share a bathroom with shower. Only two bedrooms on the first floor are equipped with air conditioning. Each other bedroom is provided with fan. Pets are allowed at an extra cost.
