The hotel needs a bit of TLC and upgrading. It was disappointing to have a bar with no beer or larger on tap! We were there in between Christmas and new year and told they only did beer on tap in the summer! The breakfast continental option was quite limited.

We based ourselves here for a long weekend to visit some places in the New Forest, we found it a pleasant and comfortable hotel, ideally placed for our requirements with lovely views and nice staff. The room was perfect, lovely bathroom as well, however the hotel experienced a power outage overnight & therefore there was no hot water, lighting, no hot food for breakfast - and for whatever reason the toilets wouldn’t flush, which nobody seemed to realise. We had to pack the relative darkness looking for our belongings from the lights from our phones, and finding a way down the corridors in a huge sprawling hotel in the dark was quite tricky. I realise this is not exactly the hotels fault but they didn’t do anything to ease the process. Every room that morning was freezing. They didn’t light any of the fireplaces or provide any form of apologies. We left somewhat disappointed.
