The staff was great, especially Douglas!! He was so kind, helpful and accommodating. The room was comfortable, and spacious. We were supposed to have a balcony room, but it wasn’t ready for us, so they offered us a larger room, which we happily accepted. It was VERY close to Copacabana beach- 3 mins, but also walking distance to Ipanema 8 mins. Very safe location. Breakfast was very good. Would have loved other protein options beside ham, and maybe a waffle station but the FRUIT was fresh and delicious, and so many pastries it was hard to choose! Fresh squeezed juice was also delicious. Overall great stay!!

The staff is fantastic, very polite and responsive. The breakfast is phenomenal, both taste and variety of food. The AC was a bit of struggle during the heat wave but nearly worked for what we needed.

Hotel is well located near Copacabana and Ipanema beach. Hotel is over 2 blocks and our block was under refurbishment. This was not mentioned before travel or upon check in. It resulted in only 1 lift in service which created long wait times and construction workers also using lift meaning it was dusty and dirty. Noise of construction stopped in evenings but it meant daytime it was preferable to stay away from hotel. Restaurant was closed for refurbishment so a temporary facility was created in an events room meaning poor atmosphere, lack of comfort, lack of food variety including no coffee machine. We had to walk through construction site to get to breakfast. Room had been refurbished which was fresh and modern to look at and spacious enough. However bathroom was an issue due to water pressure so could not always get hot water or temperature changed quickly in shower. Shower design meant it did not drain fully so had to sweep water down drain after shower. Room door failed so had to call maintenance who arrived promptly but had to break down door causing mess to room, corridor and clothes. Luckily it occurred near to end of stay as it wasn’t pleasant to look at and was not offered another room. Balconies in our block were not great due to size being small, having large aircon machine taking up lots of space, no chairs/table, unfinished floor with cracked tiles and entire balcony covered in netting (presumably due to construction) as the other block did not have this.

Check in took 40 mins just for 4 of us. It was 5 am and the receptionist was extremely slow. Rooms are old, very noisy street breakfast had spoiled milk, non working coffee machine for 2 days. coffe is powdered. Cheese was spoiled. AC was not working so sitting in a small restaurant was nearly to impossible Hygiene is not the strongest there The toilet was not working for 2 days despite telling the receptionist 3 times. We had to use washroom in the lobby. NO AC in the lobby either. Staff does not speak English. Overall impression was very unpleasant. Family of 4, no kids. It might be Ok for some people, but we would NOT return

I really regret staying here. The only positive thing I can say is that the air conditioning worked well and kept the room cold. Unfortunately, everything else was disappointing. The entire hotel is dirty — while the sheets were changed, it was clear the room itself wasn’t actually cleaned. There was visible mold in several areas and a strong musty smell that never went away. There is absolutely no soundproofing, so sleeping was nearly impossible. We could hear every car, motorcycle, and conversation from outside all night long. Customer service was nonexistent; staff seemed indifferent and didn’t address any concerns. We weren’t the only ones unhappy — we heard multiple guests complaining in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, so this clearly wasn’t an isolated experience. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It badly needs cleaning, maintenance, and proper management. The AC shouldn’t be the only thing that works in a hotel.
