Les Coumayres - family friendly farmhouse, ideal large groups - heated pool, playground and terraces

Les Coumayres comprises of four holiday homes: La Châtaigne is accessed from the main terrace at the front of the house, with its own kitchen and dining area, wood burner and terrace with external sofa and table and chairs.  Upstairs there is a double bedroom and second bedroom with bunk bed.  Le Chêne is accessed from the main terrace at the front of the house, with its own kitchen and dining area, wood burner and terrace with external sofa and table and chairs.  Upstairs there is a double bedroom and second bedroom with two single beds.  Le Sanglier is accessed from the rear terrace at the back of the house, with its own kitchen and dining area, wood burner and terrace with external sofa and table and chairs.  The double bed is in the open plan living area and there is a further bedroom with its own bathroom and two bunk beds.  Les Cathares is accessed from both front and rear terraces.  This is a wonderful gites built over four levels.  The first level comprises a small kitchenette with access door on to main terrace.  The second level comprises a huge double bedroom (with direct orchard garden access), main bathroom and large space with two single beds.  The third level comprises a huge hall, further large living room with seating for six, full sized kitchen with seating for six and direct access to the rear terrace.  The fourth floor comprises a large double bedroom, en suite bathroom and stunning private terrace with lighting and incredible views to the Pyrenees.   

Les Cathares has a huge 15x5m hall with snooker table, old piano. punch bag, further seating and direct terrace access via large glazed doors. Three gites can be connected via a magical 'secret passage way' making it ideal for large groups. Please note there is not one large table to seat guests from all four gites however this can be arranged on the terrace by Les Cathares outside.

Each has their own outdoor space with sofa and table and chairs. We have a large stone BBQ on the front terrace and a further BBQ on the rear terrace. There is a lovely big heated pool, security fencing and washing / toilet facilities, an adventure playground, tree platform and play pond. There are three other gites on site as well as our family home.

The whole farmhouse and land has a magical, tranquil atmosphere. In the evening the building, terraces and drive are lit up to create an ethereal ambiance allowing guests to enjoy the atmosphere in to the night. We have many children's toys, instruments and costumes - children often make friends and entertain their parents with shows on the main terrace. We try to do a film soiree once a week on the main terrace for all the families. Les Coumayres is a sociable place for guests - children can be free and creative in a safe environment, surrounded by nature. There are many tracks and gardens to explore the wonderful countryside. The weather in summer is usually sunny and comfortably warm, unlike the coast which can be too hot. You would share the terraces and pool with the resident family.

Nearby there are lakes with water sports, zip lining, kayaking, canyoning, medieval villages, open air markets, local fetes, stunning countryside to explore including gorgeous and waterfalls.

Please note that towels and linen are only provided in high season (July - August). Guests should bring their own towels and linen outside of these months. We can rent towels and linen but this must be agreed when you make the booking. The pool is open from July - August. Sometimes we are able to open this for longer but you should ask at reservation stage. Please assume it is closed outside of high season.
