Escape to the mountains and enjoy exclusive use of all six guest rooms at the historic Chipman Inn. This full-service stay includes a homemade breakfast each morning and beverage service in the evening featuring Vermont beers on tap and a rotating wine selection. Your group will have private access to the guest rooms, dining room, and shared common spaces, perfect for small gatherings, retreats, or family trips. Please note: the kitchen and bar are not available for guest use—but your innkeeper is on-site to cook, pour, and help make your time here relaxing and memorable. Located in Ripton, just off Route 125, the inn is surrounded by nature, with hiking trails, rivers, and the Middlebury Snow Bowl all nearby.
House Rules for Full Inn Rental
We’re so glad you’re considering the Chipman Inn for your group stay. To help keep things smooth, comfortable, and enjoyable for everyone, we ask guests to follow a few simple guidelines:
No guest access to the kitchen or bar
Since this is a full-service stay, food and drinks are prepared and served by your innkeeper. Let us handle the cooking so you can relax and enjoy your time together.
Quiet hours begin at 10:00 p.m.
We ask for quiet in common areas after 10 p.m. to respect everyone’s rest—especially in this peaceful mountain setting.
No smoking or vaping indoors
Smoking is only permitted in designated outdoor areas.
Outside food and alcohol
You’re welcome to bring snacks or picnic items, but please note that we do not allow use of the kitchen or BYOB at the bar. We serve local beers and wine, available for purchase on site.
No pets
While we love animals, the inn is pet-free (with the exception of service animals, of course).
Children must be supervised
The inn is family-friendly, but please keep an eye on little ones, especially in common areas.
Registered guests only
For privacy and safety, only registered guests are allowed on the property unless arranged in advance.
