Marco was a great host, helpful & kind, available for us. Great with directions and restaurant recommendations. Answered emails & texts quickly. The building is a bit hidden/tricky to find. You go down the driveway beside the next address & this building is to the left, at the end. A bit of a surprise that the apartment was in the basement of the building, dingy/dark at the apartment door, but the apartment itself is very clean, quiet, bright corner apartment. A bit sparse, but modern furniture & appliances. Marco mentions in his description that there are LOTS of stairs. I can confirm. Not the best choice if you lug big/heavy suitcases. Highlight: Lovely large, private wrap-around patio with a lemon tree! & lots of seating. The building is up on a hill, so it is actually quite high up off the road behind (see photo of view). Once you’re in, it doesn’t feel like a basement. Bed is firm but comfortable. One of the legs on the bed was broken before we arrived and bed collapsed on us (hence my not-perfect rating). (I’m sure that Marco will have fixed it for the next guest) There is a kitchen with a table & 2 chairs, bedroom & bathroom, but there is no actual sitting area with a couch, which would have been nice after a day of walking around Rome. Fabulous location, really close to the Vatican. Several restaurants nearby, 10-15 minute walk. Several close bus connections. Roma San Pietro train station is a 10 minute walk downhill. Thanks, Marco!
