Do not stay here. The advertisement and actual rooms look nothing alike. We could not take our room key with us because it was “unsafe” however it felt more like we were giving them access to our personal belongings while we were out. The bed was hard, there was no air circulation and shower amenities featured only cold water. Furthermore, when attempting to upgrade to a bigger room, I was told this was not possible because the hotel was “completely occupied”. I checked out after having a cold breakfast and was told that I would not receive refund despite the inability of the establishment to assist with my needs for the stay. This was by far the worst experience I have had with a hotel ever.

It had become terribly expensive and does not seem to be worth the amount. Roof top closed. Restaurant closed. Thinking this was my last visit.

Very walkable to most of the famous site in Rome. You should be prepared to walk 4 to 6 miles a day. Many many excellent restaurants near by. Very friendly staff. Note that the beds in the hotels we stayed at in Italy were quite firm. Including this hotel.

Siempre nos hospedamos en el centro de Roma y esta vez por una situación nos hospedamos en este hotel, hicimos check in tarde (1 am) sin ningún problema, todo el personal nos trató muy amable y siempre preguntándonos si nos podían ayudar con algo, el hotel está bonito, habitaciones amplias, limpias y nuevas, dejamos las maletas para salir más tarde del hotel sin ningún problema , llegas caminando a 25 minutos a la fontana , sin duda altamente recomendable !!

Give Hotel San Francesco a Try

The Hotel San Francesca is a charming property. We selected it because it is affordable and conveniently located to many sites we wanted to see in Rome. The room was nice, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The breakfast was good and the bar was well stocked. I would retrun.

It’s a great hotel. Staff is friendly, room is clean, and spacious bathroom. Loved the location. Easy to walk through Trastevere and also take public transportation.

A lovely well located boutique hotel.

The Hotels staff were very welcoming and efficient. The Hotel is small and the rooms typical of Europe, quite small but they were clean and the bathrooms were also fine. The location was excellent allowing us the opportunity to explore the great restaurants in this lively area but also close enough to be able to walk within 30 minutes to many of the cities great sites such as the Palestine Hills and Parthenon. The highlight however was on our second evening we decided to make use of the free drink that was provided. The Cocktail barman (I apologise I forgot his name) was a total experience. Over two nights he made us the most amazing cocktails, mixed with a theatrical flourish that was a show in itself. Ensure that you visit the bar and take advantage. On the second night we also has some food samplers, pate and a cheese board. Both were exceptional and the price was very fair. I would happily recommend the San Francesco and look forward to perhaps a return in the future.

Great area in Trastevere not right in the action but walking distance. Great service friendly staff, my only complaint is that room wall are paper thin and you can hear everything, I bit noise.
