"They're not PILLOWS!"

A lovely room for my needs. Comfortable bed. Hot shower....great air con. The eternal downer is...hotel pillows! Reliably rubbish.

Lovely hotel and we had a really nice room. Very impressed. However breakfast wasnt great. Not very hot. But it was quite busy so that probably was a factor. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Good location . Close to the cathedral. Building is bit antique and would certaintly use some love and care. Rooms are also pretty crammed. Bed was comfortable. Pillows not. Shower was not very powerful and the rain head was as mild as the actual rain in terms of power. Breakfast was OK but lacked any flavor, so bit disappointing for the price. Window did not close properly in my room as the latch to close it was completely broken. Overall, an OK stay but certainly not a 4* one. Checkin was also very strict given the amount of free rooms apparently were available…

We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay here as the room was comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and the meal we had in the restaurant wasn’t bad at all! Staff were welcoming, friendly and pleasant throughout. This was a gem of a place!

It's a really neat old building, and everything felt modern enough for the room. Be cautious in some of the hallways -- the floor is a bit uneven. The location was perfect for exploring the area. I wish we had a second night there!

Arrived late Friday night to find we have been upgraded to an apartment accessed from the car park. Apartments are very nice with a cooker, fridge, dishwasher, microwave and coffee maker. The kitchen and bathroom welcome packs had everything needed for your first night if you have forgotten anything. I'm not sure if it was supposed to be there, but a welcome bag of ice in the freezer! Walk-in shower was a bonus equipped with separate Shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The bed was a nice size double and each room had separate air conditioning controls. Breakfast under the auspices of June was excellent, all credit to the Chef. Sunday seemed to be manic as a wedding party had stayed. June and her young helper worked their socks off as everything seemed to run out at the same time. Yet the kitchen produced even better food (to my liking) that day. Because of the central location in the city there was no need to move the car at all with everything in a short walking distance. See Cathedral and Giggling Squid reviews on trip advisor Now car parking is extra on first come basis and is open to the public. we paid £330 for 2 nights, 2 breakfasts and car parking, that seems to be the price for 1 night in the apartment. For the quality of the hotel, maybe a better quality of toilet paper, and Apartment 2 door slams hard. Sure we may have upset the neighbours. So if that's all I can bring up, you can trust us to return.

Extremely accommodating and welcoming

The room was basic but absolutely fine, clean and great blackout curtains! The staff (Sharon and Alex) were so incredibly helpful and really friendly. The hotel is a little dated feeling and lounge furniture would do with replacing! We didn't have breakfast but others in our party said it was very good and we also checked about gluten free breakfast options as my partner has coeliac and there were many and they were knowledgeable and accommodating. Fantastic location!

All staff were kind and responsive, but there weren't enough of them! The restaurant was unable to serve food when a concurrent banquet was scheduled (announced to me after I had ordered my wine) until an hour later. Breakfast staff unable to keep up with stocking the coffee machine and clearing the tables. Not the fault of the staff, but the management. The food at restaurant, when I got it, was truly delicious. Quite exceptional. And the front desk staff went out of their way to help with bags and taxi reservations. I stayed in an apartment which was spacious and pretty much new. No complaints about facilities. I cannot think of a better location, maybe 50 meters from entrance to Cathedral Close.

My husband and I had a lovely weekend supporting Chingford Parish Choir at the Cathedral. The Hotel is really close to the Cathedral and as I use a Rollator to help me walk it was ideal. The room was well equipped and comfortable and the staff were all very helpful, especially Jack on Reception. We enjoyed our breakfast each morning and had a nice meal Saturday evening. There is a good disabled toilet on the ground floor but no lift to the bedrooms which would be helpful. I managed but not everyone would be able to. Salisbury is a delightful town and really worth visiting and the Cathedral is absolutely beautiful.
