At the time of booking, I did not realize that this property had no check in staff on site. I received multiple emails from them, through Expedia, asking for payment of the city tax, which I did not pay because Expedia cautions against that. I finally got a check in email which I attempted to do but couldn’t because the process involved scanning of our passports. Upon arriving at the site, we were lucky in that someone coming out let us in. There in the entry, we could use a QR code to download the app and complete all of the required steps to check in and get a pin to give us access to our room. The room was fine and communication through WhatsApp was fine. There were just a lot of unexpected steps.
