Enjoyed the stay at the El Colonial. Drink bar was a pleasant surprise. Staff was friendly and responsive. A/C for the rooms was superb. Lack of an elevator was a downside to the stay as we had to climb up and down 4 floors.

Just believe the hotel explanation when it says “no elevator”, it is true. Not suitable for people who have issues with walking up and down stairs.

It’s got that vintage charm a lot of us look for, but you can find that and have a way better experience—especially if you’re traveling solo for work. The place itself is pretty great, but it’s clear the staff is overwhelmed with the recent spike in tourism. If you’re looking for a spot where you can just exist and get some work done (without worrying about being kicked out by the manager), I’d recommend heading to the west side of the island instead.

No Hot water really, tepid maybe. ,facilities are less or below expectations and staff could be more profesional. I stand often in Hotels and I am a Platinum expidia clients because of that, but El Colonial i dont think i would ever repeat it me or any of my staff.

Rude staff, I can deal with that, but motel quality rooms?NO HOT WATER ( barely tepid )outdated decor, no wonder this disaster of “Hotel” is on sale. Not recomended and not coming back ever to this or any 901 properties.

Beautiful and quaint hotel in an excellent location. Close to attractions and restaurants and a short ride from the airport. Small but clean room with basic amenities. Staff was friendly and helpful. Nice rooftop and the open bar was a gem. Pros: Great location, amazing staff, open bar. Cons: Small bathrooms, no elevator, no pool. I would recommended this hotel for its location and wonderful staff.

Brilliant hotel

We absolutely loved this hotel! The staff were incredibly kind and very friendly. The open bar was an added treat which we really enjoyed and made friends at the bar. The building itself is beautiful, with lovely style and decor. The room was more on the basic side but that was fine as we spent more time exploring beautiful San Juan. The location was excellent. We would 100% stay again, thank you
