Charming Villa but Let Down by Major Power Issues
We stayed at this villa from June 26, 2025, for a 4-day holiday and had a mixed experience.The Good:The pool is huge and definitely a highlight. The villa has a fun, quirky vibe with unique decor. The kitchen was very well stocked with utensils—everything we needed was there. The listing was honest about the limited air con, which we appreciated. Check-in was smooth, and we were generously offered a late checkout at no extra cost.The Not-So-Great:The biggest issue was the electricity, which went out 5 times, leaving us without power for over 16 hours during a 33C heatwave. That meant no air con, fans, lights, internet, or charging. The hosts blamed appliance overuse, but there were only 9 of us in a villa meant for 11, and we were careful to only run one air con unit. The system is simply not fit for purpose.As the hosts were 1hr away, we had to reset the power ourselves, by leaving the villa, onto a communal path and through a bush—not ideal! Hosts were initially responsive but didn’t reply when we asked for an extra hour at checkout (which we clearly said was not a problem if not possible).On checkout, the owner's mother-in-law was unexpectedly rude, despite us leaving the villa very clean and tidy throughout.Minor issues included barking dogs nearby and some cockroaches and hornets, which, while expected in hot climates, didn’t help.Overall: The villa has potential, but the unreliable electrics, inconsistent communication and rude departure soured it.
