For the one who wakes up early to walk the bay.
The Naturalist`s Cabin is The Cedar`s quiet, nature-themed retreat — a 1950s motor-court room dressed in earthy linens and a rotating gallery of landscape art. Two queen beds anchor the space beneath a sweeping mountain canvas; a vintage Yellowstone National Park print adds a touch of national-parks nostalgia; a close-up cresting-wave painting nods to Lake Erie just steps outside; and a brass dolphin sculpture stands quiet sentry against a deep teal accent wall.
A small coffee bar tucks into the entry alcove — drip coffee maker, mini-fridge, microwave, mugs, filters — with a wooden luggage rack and wall-mounted hanger rail for keeping the rest of the room uncluttered. A private bathroom with a walk-in shower rounds out the room.
Sleeps four. Walk to the bay, the boardwalk, and the rest of The Cedar`s colorful themed-room doors.
— About The Cedar —
The Cedar was a 1950s motor court on Sandusky Bay — a roadside stop for travelers heading to Cedar Point. The bones haven`t changed: compact rooms, exterior doors, original footprint. What`s different is everything inside. Each of the 12 rooms has been reimagined around a single idea — a writer`s retreat, a captain`s cabin, a vinyl lounge — with curated decor, fresh linens, and details you`d expect from a small boutique hotel rather than a 50s motel.
We want every guest to have an amazing stay! Our quiet hours are from 11:00pm to 7:00am — a little consideration goes a long way in keeping the good vibes going for everyone. Our bar is open Wednesday through Sunday, 3:00pm until 30 minutes after sunset, and we`d love to see you there. Cheers!
