Second time staying here when watching the football at Bramall Lane. Clean, smart, well run hotel. Convivial atmosphere in the lobby bar before and after the game, with both sets of supporters mixing socially. Will stay here again.

room was very beautiful and really comfortable, excellent bed. there was a nice gym there as well. i thought the parking was expensive so we let the car on the street, but this was no issue. i was worried it would be a chaos since there was a stadium right beside, i discovered after i booked, and there was a game on the time i would arrive, but then i changed plans and arrived just after the game so it was fine.

Good service poor food

The staff were excellent, helpful and efficient. The room was clean and warm and the bed comfortable. However, the restaurant menu choice was very limited, mostly fast food and expensive for what was on offer, e.g. the Barnsley chop was served with a few small lettuce leaves only and the chocolate tart was stale. The bill, with a glass of wine and a glass of cider was £93. Breakfast at 8.30 and 9.00 the following day was dry and mostly cold. The coffee machine was very slow though good coffee.

Next to Bramall Lane

The hotel is about a 20 minute walk from the city centre. It is modern well appointed. My room had everything l needed and l especially liked the shower in the bathroom. The buffet breakfast was good, all the staff were helpful and my poached eggs were cooked to order. I stayed for the England women’s football match and the hotel could not have been nearer the ground. I will definitely book again if l am in Sheffield.

They forgot I was waiting to check in, room had been ready for over 30 mins. No fridge in room, no bottled water, strange seating - 1 chair and a pouffe. Terrible night due to guests next door screaming, crying, running up and down corridor. Actually woke other guests who all were at doors. Don’t think I will be going back, definite downgrade from the Copthorne

A festive week in Sheffield

Booked the hotel for my daughter and granddaughter competing at British swimming in Ponds Forge.The room was spacious,breakfast was good,parking near the hotel at an additional cost.All in all convenient for our needs.
