Lovely home located 'above the fog line' in a secluded coastal community. Twenty-one miles through steep curvy roads from US Hwy 101, it is a beautiful area with coastal old growth redwoods and wild coast and tame wildlife. I stayed a month. It is worth an extended stay to really feel the atmosphere.

Easy to find and access Had everything we needed Host very responsive One suggestion- please get new pillows as their were only 2 per bed and they were very flat We had to plump up with decorative pillows for those who like a thicker pillow or need another pillow under their knees We really only slept at the house as all our meals were covered by the event we were there for And it was quiet

Property was perfect but the property manager gave us the wrong phone number and the property address was incorrect because it was the wrong city on the listing and couldn't find on Google maps. She got back to us but it was a bit nerve racking

Super cute cottage getaway!

This house was so lovely! The house felt lived in in the best way. They provide you with everything you need to make yourself super at home. Unlike a lot of rental properties, the house was well stocked and location of items made sense so things are easy to find. The kitchen is very well stocked, has tons of cutlery and plates/ bowls plus kitchen utensils and gadets to cook sophisticated meals if thats your goal. The couches and beds are super comfy, and heating works very well. There are board games and brochures on the area which was great! One thing about Shelter Cove - if you have never been and are a little reckless with your research as I was - is that it's very sleepy and there are hardly any restaurants or cafes. When we visited (January 2022) there was only 1 restaurant open. This doesn't mean you shouldn't go - its peaceful, quiet, and stunningly beautiful! Just be prepared and bring things you anticipate needing. The general store is great, but doesn't sell hard liquor so plan accordingly : )

Cozy, comfortable and conveniently located

More than a house, the property felt like a cottage. Lots of nice touches and attention to detail making the atmosphere warm and welcome. All the amenities, and then some, made for easy cooking on our first night after discovering all restaurants were not open all day. There is a general store up the road which had great coffee, and lots of food items to make most of whatever you could want. This was our best vacation in the 3-4 years. The area is a gem if you like the coast, multiple trails for hiking, and a black pebble beach (no, we did see see any sand). The drive is worth it, wherever you are coming from.
