The village of Torbola is in the heart of the Val Verzasca. This large stone cottage in Torbola sleeps 9 people and makes the perfect base for guests who want to relax in a peaceful environment and also explore one of the most beautiful parts of Ticino.

The house has pale stone walls and an attractive balcony running along the front. The ground floor includes a large open-plan living space with original beamed ceilings. At one end of the living room is an open fireplace with two wooden settles on either side. There is another seating area with a sofa, armchairs and a flat-screen TV. In the centre of the room is a large dining table and a wood-burning stove. The kitchen is next to the dining area and is well-equipped with an induction hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and coffee machine.

The private garden has a terrace and wooden seating directly outside the front door, where guests can sit and enjoy the stunning mountain scenery. There is also a sheltered BBQ and a shaded dining area for meals al fresco.

Sleeping
Bedroom 1: The cosy master bedroom, on the first floor, is furnished with a double bed, armchair and an attractive antique wardrobe. A door opens directly onto the balcony overlooking the garden.
Bedroom 2: The second bedroom, also on the first floor, has two single beds, hanging space for clothes and a door out onto the balcony.
Bedroom 3: Tucked under the eaves in the attic this spacious bedroom is divided by a half wall and glass doors. On one side is a double bed, with a fold away single bed, and on the other, there are 2 single beds.

Bathrooms
Bathroom 1: The tiled bathroom has a shower head, basin, washing machine and WC.
Bathroom 2: This bathroom has a shower basin and WC.
Extra: There is a separate WC on the top floor.

Location
Just a few metres from the crystal clear waters of the River Verzasca, this cottage is ideally located for guests to hike through the valley and up into the mountains. It is 15 minutes upstream from the famous Ponte dei Salti which is a popular swimming spot. The picture-perfect village of Sonogno is 5 minutes in the other direction. This is an excellent starting point for the much-loved BoBosco trail through unspoiled alpine woods.

Just 45 minutes away is the beautiful city of Locarno, on the shores of Lake Maggiore. The city is home to many excellent restaurants and hosts a weekly market every Thursday in Piazza Grande. The market combines a farmers market, where you can pick up the best local produce, with stalls selling regional crafts and second-hand clothes, books etc.

The closest international airport is in Italy. Milan Malpensa is 2 hours away by car.
