Plenty of parking and a lovely setting. Breakfast was very poor and lacked selection (items not available when requested) and buffet was just a bowl of fruit, bread and cereals. Dinner was also poor. Room was a bit shabby and the bed mattress very uncomfortable with springs digging in. Lovely size room though and the public communal areas were beautiful

We had a very pleasant one night stay at Woodlands Lodge. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The restaurant was excellent, and we enjoyed a good breakfast with a variety of choices. We would definitely stay again.

Nice hotel if a little tired.

Friendly helpful staff, hotel a little tired. No need for the plastic flowers in such beautiful surroundings and building. Unfortunately we found the bed really uncomfortable, other than that the room was lovely. Ducks quacking all night was interesting but cute at the same time. Breakfast was good.

Great location, friendly staff and really nice food. Staff were super proud of the efforts to use local fresh produce in the kitchen and it showed in the meals presented. Pleasant clean room and overall good value.

Chose this hotel because of gluten free options on example menu online.very disappointed to be told at evening meal time that the menu had changed and only a few items were gluten free. My wife is a coeliac and would have a severe reaction if eating any items with gluten.small tv in bedroom didn't work,recetionist tried changing batteries in remote,still not working.only 2 bulbs out of 6 working on main lights in bedroom told maintenance does not work at weekends

Highly recommend.

Food options were great. We had a lunch when we arrived which was fantastic. Breakfast was really good. The beds were very comfortable. If I was to pick fault with the room I would just put that there is no aircon and it was a very hot spell of weather however they do provide you with a fan which was greatly accepted. We had no issues with the internet however we didn’t spend much time on it as were there for a wedding.

We had a good time here with 3 kids in the deluxe family room. Decor and bathroom fittings could be refreshed but the critical things were clean and plenty of space in the rooms and also garden for the kids to chill and play. We thought it was good value for money. Very close to paulton park and also within 30mins drive to most of the walks we wanted to do so all in all a good experience.

Lovely location, but food needs avoiding

The room was nice and very comfy ( though not many sockets and a rather unwieldy extension lead was in there). The hotel was clean BUT the outside and inside is a little tired. However the reasons for my lower scores are: 1. Primarily the food was terrible! Looking at their website I was expecting a bit of a foodie place. They certainly give it a good write up. Instead for my first evening I got prawns which were ‘squeaky’ and odd textured - that sort of bouncy, undercooked frozen texture; for breakfast the next day I have to say it was one of the worst Eggs Benedict I have ever had - scrambled hollandaise that was tepid and that cheap shaped-and-formed wet, slimy ham that you get in budget packets. I couldn’t eat it. Huge disappointment, but it ensured I didn’t eat there again either evening or breakfast. 2. Staff were very nice however they were somewhat thin on the ground and I asked a question - twice - about why my Hotels.Com receipt showed that I paid £40 more than the amount the hotel showed I had paid, but got no answer. The hotel is in a fabulous location and has access straight onto the forest. So if you aren’t fussed about food I’d say it was a great option. If you are, be aware that there’s nowhere else nearby to eat.

Good but no chef

Room was satisfactory. Main problem was lack of chef, hopefully only temporary. Only had one meal, 2 x burgers, which took nearly 50 minutes to arrive. We didn't risk breakfast as the local steam fair wanted us in before 0900 and we couldn't afford a similar delay. Really good otherwise so would use next time.
