We had doubts our room had been cleaned. The shower had large globs of hair on the walls. The rest of the bathroom also left question marks, I flushed toilet, hair on counter and in sink. We were in a rush and didn’t have time to address concerns with staff before our event. We just avoided the bathroom when we returned.

A/C was disabled in our room. Staff didn’t seem to care after asking twice. We forgot items in our room and no one will assist to get them back to us. Beautiful hotel should have amazing hospitality. Hospitality was not present at all within the hotel.

IdolWolf bar & restaurant is perfect. Beautiful menus for dinner, brunch & cocktails. Upon arrival at the hotel, knew it wasn’t realistic for early check in. We were told $65 for early check in, we were fine with that. Checked our luggage with their 3rd party valet service, we had an appointment scheduled that we needed to leave for. When we came back later that evening, we were able to get checked in and move our luggage to the room. The next day we were unpacking and came to find that we were missing almost $500 in cash. This beautiful hotel that we had a wonderful stay in back in June, we were beyond disappointed. We raised the issue with the staff. They rerouted us to the 3rd party valet. They did take care of a the valet charges, but nothing else came to fruition to make us whole on what was stolen from us. We followed up at checkout and they upgraded us to a suite for when we check back in the next day. We did need to book a different room due to no availability for one night. We checked back in, and when we arrived to our room, the a/c was completely disabled, it was broken. We called the front desk twice that day asking for it to be fixed. We were told that they were full and couldn’t move us. We checked out, followed up on the stolen cash. Reminded them to fix the a/c. We forgot some items in a drawer. We called and was told they’ll check with housekeeping. I called the manager. No return call. We just want our items returned to us. We are happy to pay shipping.

Love the 21C. I try staying here every time I’m in St. Louis. There’s a great restaurant, a full art gallery and a steam room / gym as well. The staff is always super accommodating.

Unethical Hotel - avoid

We booked and paid for a suite through Hotels.com, but when we arrived, the air conditioning wasn’t working. It was a warm day, and after three separate requests for help, nothing was done. Hours later, just before we left for the concert we came to see, I went to the front desk when they finally admitted they couldn’t fix it. Their “solution” was to move us — not to another suite(one wasn’t available), but to the a small basic room. We didn’t have time to switch before the concert, so after a long night out we came back tired, only to have to pack up all our things and move rooms ourselves. The room we were moved to was dramatically smaller, and their idea of compensation was offering us free breakfast. The difference in cost between the suite we paid for and the basic room we were given was significant — not to mention the complete disruption to our stay. When I went to the desk to discuss a refund, the employee couldn’t have been less interested in helping. Hotels.com tried to assist but explained that the hotel refused to authorize a refund, so their hands were tied. At the end of the day, this hotel charged us for a suite they couldn’t provide, wasted our time, and made no real effort to make things right. The lack of accountability and basic customer service was astonishing. There are plenty of places to stay that actually value their guests — this isn’t one of them. Avoid it.
