Roundhead Mountain Lodge

Tucked away on one private acre on the east side of its namesake, Roundhead Mountain Lodge is a beautifully renovated chalet designed for comfort, relaxation, and unforgettable mountain views. From nearly every vantage point, you’ll enjoy sweeping panoramic views of Shenandoah National Park, including Ida Ridge, Pine Grove, and Tanners Ridge—a stunning backdrop year-round.

Inside, the lodge features warm pine paneling throughout, creating a cozy mountain atmosphere while still offering modern amenities. The home includes three spacious bedrooms and three full bathrooms, making it ideal for couples, families, or small groups. Two of the bedrooms are master suites with 15-foot vaulted ceilings, providing a bright, airy feel and plenty of space to unwind.

Step outside to the large wraparound deck and upstairs balcony, where you can enjoy your morning coffee, watch wildlife pass through, or take in breathtaking sunsets over the valley. The deck is partially covered and enclosed, allowing you to enjoy the outdoors in most weather conditions.

One of the highlights of the home is the Master Spa hot tub, conveniently located on the deck. Here, you can soak while enjoying mountain views —perfect after a day of hiking, sightseeing, or simply relaxing.

The lodge is equipped with Starlink WiFi, making it easy to stay connected while still enjoying a peaceful mountain escape. The fully equipped kitchen includes everything needed to prepare meals at home, and the wood-burning stove (with firewood provided) adds warmth and charm during cooler months. Smart TVs, board games, DVDs, and cozy seating areas make it easy to enjoy quiet evenings indoors.

Located just a short drive from the many outdoor adventures of the Shenandoah Valley, including hiking, scenic drives, wineries, and national parks, Roundhead Mountain Lodge offers the perfect balance of seclusion and accessibility.

Please note: The optional firewood charge of $10/night is for firewood. If you don't think you will use the firewood or would like to bring your own, please let us know! We are more than happy to refund that to you.



❄️ WINTER TRAVEL NOTICE (November–March)

🚙 4WD/ AWD REQUIRED during winter months.

While some weekends may be dry, mountain weather can change quickly and cannot be predicted in advance. Please take this requirement seriously when booking during these months.

For the remainder of the year, standard 2WD vehicles are generally fine. However, low-clearance or low-riding vehicles are not recommended, as this is a gravel mountain road with inclines and uneven terrain.

Roundhead Mountain Lodge offers its guests a hot tub, barbecue grills, and a garden. The front desk is open around the clock.

This Stanley cabin is smoke free.
