This is an average hotel in State College. Perks are it’s usually a bit cheaper than others and it’s only about a mile from campus. You can walk there if you’re up for it and the cut through neighborhood is safe. There are stores nearby and the area seems busy and well lit. Also, there is breakfast included and a decent bar/grill attached. It is one of the only ones nearby that has an indoor and outdoor pool. Also, it’s pretty big. There are a LOT of rooms. Cons are it’s pretty old and a bit run down and the majority of the rooms are “motel” style. The indoor pool has interior rooms facing it but the carpet was wet in front of the rooms and the chlorine smell was strong. The exercise room is abysmal. No weights or anything. Elevator seemed very old. Overall, if it’s a busy weekend and nicer hotels are scarce or too pricy, this will be fine. It’s just an average spot in a college town.

Motel with rooms exiting to the outdoors. Small rooms and bathrooms. Dated but efficient. Many children running around this weekend. Fridge and microwave room and large tv. Bottle opener in the room on the wall. Blast from the past here at the Ramada.

OK but won't stay again

Front desk staff was good. Waitstaff wasn't bad. Bartender made a good French martini. Food was meh. Room was a bit dirty - hair on the comforter when I pulled it back, hair in the shower, small blood stains on the comforter, tv didn't work, tub didn't drain well. Good water pressure though.

Rooms and bathroom old but clean. Insanely noisy. Hotel rented out pool area until 10pm so all us guests had to deal with yelling and screaming. (They should have informed us of a huge party when we made reservation.) Booked this hotel to be close to PSU. Would rather stay a little further away than stay here again.

This property if very dated. The AC pumped out hot air. The repair was quick but then VERY loud in the room and bathroom for the entire night. The cost of this room should of been under $100 instead it was over $200! Did feel clean, Gym for a huge motel was awful. Please update and it could be wonderful.

Beds are comfortable and there has been some attempt at updating the rooms. Overall the room seems clean, but still old. Hotel is better described as a two-story motel, where you enter your room from an outside door, rather than an interior hallway. People are constantly walking by your room, so you cannot leave the drapes open or you are on display. Exterior and common walkways are in desperate need of repair. This hotel is rundown and needs a lot of work. I will look elsewhere next trip.

Great Staff, but DV incident forced us to leave

There was a DV incident that occurred in the room right beside mine. I was very concerned for this woman's life and safety. I took the information to the front desk about what I had heard and the severity of the situation. The front desk was able to handle the situation, and the police were called to the scene. The woman was able to leave the scene unharmed, but the man that was threatening her well-being was allowed to STAY at the hotel?? Since I had been slightly involved in the incident, I did not feel comfortable staying at the same hotel as a man that I had just heard make very serious threats to a woman's life. The hotel refunded our rooms at request and canceled our reservation. We were able to find different accommodations. Despite the staff handling the situation well and being able to comp our rooms; I am not happy that a man like that was able to stay in the hotel where he had the potential to harm other people.
