Convenient location but above a bar and really really loud. Also, Sydney in the summer is hot...and there is no air conditioning nor private bath or toilet. Both are in hallway. I will not stay there again and neither should you.

Have stayed here many times. There was some sort of mix up by Expedia from booking made and paid over 3 months ago - however all was sorted by the Grand and had a good room. Thank you Grand and staff

I had a very disappointing experience at The Grand Hotel. The hotel was extremely dirty and unhygienic, and I believe it should be inspected by NSW Hospitality. During my stay, my room was not cleaned daily, and my bedsheet was never changed. The floors, walls, and bathroom were filthy, with cockroaches running around in the bathroom. The kitchen was in such an unhygienic condition that I refused to use it. There were no basic utensils like forks, knives, or spoons available. There was no air conditioner in the room—only a small fan in the corner, which was completely inadequate. The room was unbearably hot and uncomfortable, making it difficult to rest or sleep. Additionally, there was no chair or desk, and the walls were cracked and dirty. The pub on the ground floor was extremely crowded and noisy, adding to my discomfort. Given the poor hygiene standards and overall unpleasant experience, I will never book this hotel again and would not recommend it to anyone.

The staff were very friendly and informative. The hotel bedroom was clean, but could be improved with maintenance. Same with the shower facilities, which weren't regularly cleaned and also had a mouldy shower curtain.

No frills, but worth it

Located within short walking distance of the Wynyard station and Light Rail (Bridge Street), the Grand Hotel is conveniently located. The Grand Hotel provided a reasonable, no frills room - suitable for those who are just seeking a place to sleep. Bar areas and eating areas are also worth visiting.

This is a great place to stay, location is wonderful really close to train station and all the places to see are a walking distance from here, the staff is nice even when they're busy they attend to your needs, its clean and nice

Its pub style accommodation if your fussy you won't like it, but if you want 4 walls and a clean bed close to everywhere it's great. The bathrooms are shared and can be hit or miss if grubs are using the facilities but otherwise great cheap option for a night on the town.

Didnt expect much, didnt get much. Lift was obsolete and dangerpus, manual opening and door closing. I was on floor 5, and the fire escape stairs seemed to end there. You would not want to be in an emergency situation looking for where the fire stair continued down.
