TL;DR - Clean, convenient, and low-fuss. Perfect for travelers who just need a good shower and sleep.
This hotel delivered exactly what we needed: a clean and quiet place to rest every night. The lobby was nicely done, but the rooms did lean a bit dated and plain. The shower is also visible from the bed, which might be problematic for anyone sharing rooms.
Lakeshore definitely feels geared toward business travelers, but worked well for us since we mostly just needed a solid base to explore Tainan. It is very centrally located, and great Tainan eats were steps away in every direction. It’s also across the street from the Art Museum and Judicial Museum, and the accompanying open space makes the area feel calmer than the busier parts of old town.
There were also some other notable perks. There’s a water dispenser on every floor, a Family Mark minutes away, and free luggage hold. The front desk staff were genuinely helpful and spoke English well. They also helped us figure out the free shuttle bus to the HSR (the stop is a 7-minute walk from the hotel).
I even got a little surprise. They recognized my Expedia status and gave me a welcome gift! I didn’t even know I had status, or that Expedia had statuses, but hey, I’ll take it.
