The grandeur atmosphere and tentative staff made for an overall luxurious-feeling experience. There were many amenities offered and the hotel-station shuttle in particular was very convenient. However, one thing that didn't sit well with me and my travel partner was one stingy occurrence at Yuan Yuan restaurant. The waitress replaced our tea pot (it was not empty) and they ended up charging us for two hot teas even though we never asked for the refill. It was a little thing, but it felt very stingy considering how much we were spending for our high-end meal. So that they could collect a few extra dollars, this cost them two annoyed guests and a tainted impression of their entire property, despite the delicious meal.

Entire mountain is hotel property with amazing history and large garden and great view of Taipei City, Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Buffet at the hotel is sumptuous and very tasty and the best buffet I have ever encountered.

This is a better than average hotel for the price. They’re almost large and well renovated. The hotel has great history so we’re staying here. Also has a very good view of the city and convenient shuttle buses to take you down to the MRT. Some nice little shops. The buffet was unremarkable. Overall a nice stay

Very big and historical. A few parties were held there including a newlywed couple, happy environment. Didn’t have time to try their famous buffet. Will try it next time. It’s isolated on a hill and have to rely on free hotel shuttle to go and from nearby MRT station. The view from my room was spectacular overlooking the city of Taipei
