Badia Vecchia -huoneisto

Englanninkielinen kartano, joka on rakennettu vuonna 1939 rikkaan vanhan omistajan Sir. Robert Pretty Barlow, kauneuden ja hyvän elämän ihailija. Hän on modernin homokulttuurin edeltäjä, hän järjesti kirjailijoita, maalareita ja maineikkaita matkailijoita. Hän itse matkusti, auttoi tekemään Taorminaa tunnetuksi monille maanmiehilleen ja muille.
Huoneisto sijaitsee talon ensimmäisessä kerroksessa erittäin keskeisellä ja panoraamanäkymällä, josta on näkymät Etnalle, Giardini Naxoksen lahdelle ja Badian Vecchialle, joka on yksi kaupungin merkittävimmistä monumenteista.
Tämä huoneistohotelli on saanut loistavaa palautetta avuliaasta henkilökunnastaan. Majoituspaikka sijaitsee vain lyhyen kävelymatkan päässä kohteesta Corso Umberto. Majoituspaikka tarjoaa asiakkaille esimerkiksi kuivapesulapalvelun. Huoneistossa tarjoaa asiakkaille ilmaisen Wi-Fi-yhteyden ja keittiön.

Absolutely amazing stay in Taormina!! Furio and his wife made checking in and finding parking for our car completely seamless. The apartment was in a perfect location to access all of the sights in Taormina and was well equipped, including water and a mocha pot for coffee. The host also recommended great food stops in the city and even helped us get a reservation last minute after check in. Would highly recommend!!

The apartment was clean and nicely decorated. It accommodated 4 people with ease. The beds were especially comfortable and the kitchen whilst compact was easy to cook in, we esepcially appreciated the coffee machine which made very nice coffee.The location was very convenient, close to shops, restaurants, supermarkets, etc.Furio was lovely and helpful, making great suggestions for restaurants (we really loved restaurant Malvasia!!!). As well as advice on the best beaches, the best way to see Etna, etc.

Upon our arrival we were met by the property owner Furio who spent time answering questions and giving us insight into places for grocery shopping, laundry, beach and restaurants. He made himself available for any other questions for the duration of our stay. Definitely would recommend this place.

Apartment was in a perfect location to see Taormina and had spectacular views from every bedroom and terrace. The hosts were fantastic, accommodating welcoming and so helpful in picking restaurants and even made reservations for us. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Great location and helpful host

We appreciated the host Furio helping us with parking and giving us an orientation to the apartment and area. He also helped with recommendations for restaurants. The apartment is in a great location, close enough to all the “action” but far enough away to be a nice restful place away from the crowds.

Cozy Taormina Apartment with Excellent Location and Comfy Beds

We had a lovely stay at Furio’s apartment in Taormina. There were two couples in our group. The location was excellent, just a short walk to the downtown area with wonderful shops and a variety of restaurants. Furio kindly arranged valet parking for us (20 Euro per day) and a private tour of Mt Etna (60 Euro per person). He also provided us with fantastic restaurant recommendations.  As for the apartment, the beds were incredibly comfortable! The kitchen was basic, with a small compact fridge and no oven or toaster. As we enjoy cooking in sometimes, this was a bit challenging. Fortunately, Furio arranged a discounted continental breakfast (10 Euro per person) at the nearby hotel for us, which made not having a fully equipped kitchen easier to manage.  Overall, the apartment suited the four of us well, and we had a wonderful stay in Taormina.

We really enjoyed our stay at the apartment. We were able to walk to many good restaurants and sites. Our host, Furio, gave us a great welcome and provided lots of information about the area and restaurants. He also arranged valet parking for us and facilitated the arrangements. The outside stairs were not always well lit at night. But overall, a great experience! We liked the balcony, too!

Perfect location!

Furio, our host, was fantastic to work with! He made checking super easy and was able to help us with our travel plans. He also gives you acres to a fantastic breakfast buffet at the Hotel Continental across the street with amazing views of the coast and Etna. When we arrived the shops were closed so he gave us a bottle of his own personal wine. The rooms are spacious and clean and it’s nice to have a sitting room with a patio. The location is straight up the steps from the Porta Catania which is the entrance to the pedestrian zone. Would stay again in a heartbeat!

Superb Taormina stay

Both hosts Furio and his wife Paola are the essence of professionalism from start to finish! We were made to feel welcome even before we arrived; greeted upon arriving with full complete explanation of everything we needed to know including recommendations for restaurants not touristy! Their place is exactly as described, close to everything, quiet and just perfect! The day we were to leave there was a train strike and Furio looked into everything for us, he found out buses were still running and made arrangements to get us quickly to the bus station all the while ensuring we didn’t need to worry; an absolute gem of a host!!! Really nice people I would absolutely 100% recommend their place for a wonderful stay!!!

Amazing hosts

We were extremely well looked after by Furio and Poula from the second we arrived ( and before ) Taormina is beautiful with incredible food and stunning narrow, often stepped streets. We had very good recommendations for food with varied views and locations. We couldn’t easily see mount Etna from the balcony but had a great view from the hotel across the road for a wonderful breakfast we had. We spent a great day climbing a volcano and quad biking on the foothills of Etna. A fabulous evening as well at the local opera down the road. Not to mention Furio organising chauffeur service for a day in the sun at the beautiful beach with pizza and wine. What’s not to like? Can’t think of a single thing.

Our host gave us all the info to make our stay wonderful. Great location to everything we needed They arranged off site parking for 20 € a day. Breakfast buffet at the hotel across from us for 10€ pp. excellent food there also the restaurant had a rooftop bar Great food Our host was awesome. Highly recommend.

Beautiful flat, very close to the Corso Umberto

This place is GREAT. Clean, stylish, impeccably decorated. About 5 minutes (down MANY stairs, like everything in Taormina) to all the shops, restaurants, and people-watching you could imagine. A view that is breath-taking. The host is charming, and very friendly. He sat with us for a long time after we arrived to answer all our questions about food, shopping, groceries, gelato... One thing to clarify: When we set search filters for this stay, we looked for parking and laundry. This site came up, but it does not have either of these on-site. The host was great, and set us up with a valet service that would pick up or deliver the car, with 15 minutes notice, as many times as we wanted, for less money per day than the local parking garage. So, at first we were disappointed, but it turned out to be GREAT. As for laundry, there is a nice little laundromat about 30 meters down the road (no stairs). It's been a long time since we used a coin-op washer, but it was not bad at all.

PERFECT IN EVERY WAY!!

My husband and I were delighted to have been able to stay three nights at this fantastic property. The apartment was clean and spacious with comfortable beds, excellent air-conditioning, amazing views and just steps away from Corso Umberto. We have stayed at many VRBOs in the past and I must say that Furio and his lovely wife Paola were the best hosts we have ever experienced. Furio met us outside the apartment, helped us with our luggage and showed us how everything worked in the apartment. He gave us a map of the area and restaurant suggestions. He has an arrangement for his guests to have breakfast at the hotel across the street at discounted price. He had us picked up and brought to the Flamingo Restaurant and Beach Club. There was an umbrella and beach chairs waiting for us. We had a beautiful lunch there and then were returned to our apartment. He made dinner reservations for us one night and when we could not locate the restaurant on our navigation, Paola walked us to the restaurant. We loved everything about our stay in Taormina. Thank you so much Furio and Paola. We will never forget your kindness. We cannot wait to return!

What memories are made of! ❤️

I can’t begin to describe the amazing time we had in Taormina and staying here played a huge role! First of all, the apartment is beautiful and in the perfect location. It checks all the boxes! Secondly, the hosts, Furio and Paola, who are absolutely wonderful. Great communication…from booking to beyond. Everything they recommended from wineries, to shopping and restaurants…all amazing! If you love meeting great people during your travels, then you won’t be disappointed. They are two of the nicest (and super fun) people you will meet. If you prefer your privacy, they will honor that as well. Thank you both so much for the wonderful memories and the beautiful apartment with an amazing history! We hope to see you again!

Was a perfect quiet spot just outside the main walking roads. Furio was very welcoming and made sure our trip went perfect. He even offered a shuttle service to and from certain beaches. Would recommend.
