Very convenient to ferry for the beach and restaurants. Parking just around corner. Nice balcony. Quiet. Breakfast provides everything you would need for your morning start. Will book again!

The property couldn’t be in a better location and it has a quaint rustic ambience. There was a restaurant attached to the property that served pretty good food. We had a room with a small balcony and it had a nice rooftop view of the antique town that surrounds the property. No elevator and the stairs are tricky to navigate but the staff was willing to help you bring your bag up and down. Overall a nice stay for a couple of days.

A-mazing ! A room with ‘a view’ of the river , perfect. This hotel has a perfect riverside position. The staff are very welcoming and helpful , nothing too difficult. This residencial has huge charm and retains lots of the original features. Lovely outside area to appreciate your brekky , which is an excellent very varied buffet breakfast, yum! This is a beautiful and very well run family charecteurful Residencial. Some bedrooms have balconies or Juliette balconieswith super views across the river Short walk to all the local amenities and of course the pretty local cafe for a coffee and pastel de nata. Very pretty original tiled bathrooms and also very clean as the rest of the room. Can’t wait to get back.

Excellent location, stayed for weekend in Sept when lots of concerts and activities happening. For that reason parking was at a premium,we parked in a free lot 10 min walk away but was very safe. Boat to Tavira island literally across the street, worth a trip. Restaurants across the bridge within walking distance.The front desk personnel very friendly,let us store our luggage till room was ready. Stairs to rooms only. Our room was very small, once luggage opened ( not large suitcases) was cramped. We did forego housekeeping as there was no room to move around. We did see large chain hotel but decided we were glad we stayed in Residencial Marés just for the location and Portuguese vibe.

This hotel has alot of charm. Its character is quaint European, the room is small, but sufficient for two people. Bed is comfortable and the area is quiet. Great central location with easy access to island ferry.

Okay but overpriced

The building, as most are in Tavira, is beautiful and the approach to all the rooms is stunning with the architecture. The room itself had original features, which is a positive, but even with this there are the basics of maintenance and this is where the tale goes downhill. The bathroom is the obvious one where, though the tiles are original, there has been no effort to cover where items have been taken down. Rawl plugs are still in place and plainly visible, the tap cover caps were missing. The door, though again an original feature needed some tlc. In the bedroom the bedside units had missing trim and the a/c was noisy to say the least. On the plus side the bed was huge and comfy and check in/out was easy. If this room had been 60-80€ I would have accepted but at 128€ it was unacceptable. I would have raised this issue if i'd have been asked at check out but wasnt so on here it goes.

This Boutique Hotel is ideally located. Right on the river with a constant breeze. The Ferry to the beach is right across the road. Lots of restaurants near. The staff were exceptional! We highly recommend this lovely Hotel.

Hotel covenient for stay in Tavira. Close to all amenities and within easy walking distance main square and ferry to island hop. Free local parking. Rooms clean and comfortable albeit the rooms were a little small river view room. Hotel stagf very helpful Paulo on provided all tourist info.

First time visitors to Tavira. Loved the town! This property is a great base to wander the town and use for further afield day-trips. Not as busy as other towns. The breakfast buffet was wonderful.

Romantic stay in Alvor (not long enough)

This is a great location on the riverfront. The ferry to get to Tavira Island (beach) is literally right outside and easy walk to restaurants. Located at the quieter end of the downtown core.
Front of property. Great restaurant downstairs. Hotel guests receive a discount on meals there
Front of hotel on promenade (ferry launch on right…20 steps away).
