There is a supermarket 20 meters away around the corner, a delicatessen with delicious treats, an upmarket butcher, a bakery, and an old fashioned and very traditional Greek restaurant opposite the front door filled with locals drinking coffee and discussing worldly issues. The bus stop is 30 meters away, and taxis (which are cheap in Thessaloniki) can be found at any time on the connecting high street. Getting to the airport is very easy and a 20 minute taxi ride. As previously noted every Tuesday, the front door opens up to a bustling street food market where one can buy fresh local produce or just enjoy the experience of mingling with locals as they ,move from stall to stall. On the way to the Nea Paralia is the main city concert hall which hosts high quality classical concerts, theater plays, ballet shows, outdoor movies in the summer etc. Situated at the seaside, the glass walls of the conference center attached to the concert hall offer amazing views. The Nea Paralia is something special and is rated by both locals and tourists as one Thessaloniki’s major attractions. It stretches along the sea from the concert hall to the city center. Along this expanse locals and tourists walk, run, cycle, or stroll holding hands. Others just sit and relax watching children play and enjoying the spectacular views and beauty of the Nea Paralia. Bicycles can be hired by the hour a block away from the apartment.
