Complete peace at the beach - perfect place for a young family
We were the first ever renters of this vacation home. Luc´s house is a great little place for a long vacation in Brittany. The house is well-located in a quiet neighborhood, within a 5-minute walk of the small local supermarket and pharmacy. The house is located near many of Brittany´s most famous villages and beach front sites such as Cote Granit Rose, or Paimpol & House between the Rocks, a perfect starting point for French day trips. The house itself is very well equipped, especially the kitchen, great for people who like to shop at one of the plentiful weekday markets and cook. The backyard patio has a complete furniture set including umbrella, great for breakfasts. All the rooms have a beach view, kitchen / living room area and both bedrooms. Relax and listen to the waves while you fall asleep. The nearest beach is a 1 minute walk down the small hill, its a perfect place for an afternoon of playing with the kids, it has 3 casual and good quality restaurants on the waterfront. The house also has a brand new washing machine in the garage, good for a mid-vacation laundry session. The 2 bedrooms are equipped with 2 twin beds each which can be pushed together. In general, perfect for a 4-person family. The overall experience was very nice and we felt comfortable and safe there. The renter left little conveniences such as candles and matchsticks, cooking oil, salt & pepper, coffee & tea, which made you feel automatically welcomed. The reasons I gave 4 instead of 5 stars are the following: 1) the place lacks a certain level of coziness in the downstairs kitchen / living room area as it has a cold floor without any kind of rugs anywhere, this is important in Brittany where the chilly fog and winds roll in almost daily...bring slippers!) 2) the main bathroom upstairs needs a facelift, its location under the slanted roof makes it a bit tight for tall people, the shower (which is just a faucet from the bathtub that you have to hold) is very outdated, there is not even a shower curtain provided so every shower drenches the bathroom. 3) considering the price during summer, it would have been nice if the renter provided sheets & towels. Overall: these small critiques can be easily fixed, the place is much much nicer than advertised and in general, highly recommendable for a relaxing vacation in Brittany!
