Very Disappointing Stay — Poor Service and Unfulfilled Promises Unfortunately, our experience at this hotel was very disappointing and fell well short of expectations. Despite being advertised as a luxury boutique hotel, it felt far more like a standard business hotel. The rooms are small, although the bathrooms are large and the showers excellent — powerful and modern. Sadly, there was a persistent drain smell coming from the bathroom that also affected the bedroom. Our family, staying in another room, had the same issue, so it seems to be a wider problem. There is also ongoing construction directly across the street, starting early and continuing late, making it hard to get a peaceful night’s sleep. The only real positives were the cleanliness of the rooms and the excellent housekeeping staff. Breakfast was decent, with good allergen information and a pleasant atmosphere, though the cooked dishes were inconsistent — the poached eggs were underdone one morning and overdone (and very slow to arrive) the next. The gentleman serving at breakfast was lovely and one of the few genuinely warm members of staff we encountered. In contrast, the reception staff were cold and unaccommodating. Before our stay, I emailed twice (once in English and once in Spanish) to mention we were visiting for my 40th birthday and asked if the hotel could do anything small to mark the occasion. I never received a reply. When I enquired about this on arrival, I was simply told, “Sorry you didn’t get a r

Lovely hotel - small but had everything we needed (great hairdryer). Breakfast was really good - staff remembered what we liked. Right in the middle of the old part of town with all the shops five mins away. Hop on hop off bus stop just around the corner. Rooms kept really clean - BBC news channel available on the TV. Shower was amazing.
