Room is nicely appointed in the pedestrian zone near all tourist sites. Hotel is not manned. You check in with a vending machine. The main problem is the hotel is next to a nightclub that plays loud pulsating music from mid-afternoon to after 1;30 am. Room was vibrating and impossible to sleep. No staff to address this with

The hotel listing makes no mention of the fact that music is blaring on strait street until 1am every night. I was there for work so obviously this wasn’t a reason accommodation. Once I realized this I was proactive in reaching out to hotels.com to request an early check out and a hopeful refund - I received neither. I ended paying for 7 nights for this place of which I spent 1 sleepless night. The hotel and hotels.com refused to refund me a single penny which is outrageous. Avoid this hotel if you’re hoping to get to sleep before 1am or expect to receive decent customer service.

The King Charles Hotel would be a very good hotel for almost every reason except the utterly terrible noise environment. The staff are friendly and attentive when available, although that is only a short period in the morning during the cleaning/breakfast period. Otherwise it's self-check in which worked very well and a mobile number for any issues. Not a problem for us on this trip but if there were a need for reception support it isn't readily available. The breakfast is quite good with many options both hot and cold. To rooms are well presented and generally it is a visually nice hotel. However, and this is a highly significant issue, the hotel is on the busiest and loudest street in Valletta and situated exactly above the very loudest bar on that street. Every afternoon there is a happy hour that begins with loud music and continues on until the early hours. The bass reverberates through the building and you can hear every word of every song. We had to use earplugs and noise cancelling headphones to be able to get to sleep at any point before the early hours, and that wasn't always possible. This is not somewhere you can return to and relax after a long day sightseeing and frankly makes any stay unpleasant. It is a real shame because this is a decent hotel right in the heart of Valletta, but unless you're going to be one of the merrymakers enjoying the party until the early hours it's one to avoid like the plague. Under no circumstances would I stay here again.

The hotel is in a terrific central location - all your top sightseeing in easy walking distance. It’s smart and comfortable - just aim for a room away from the noise of the bar next door, like mine, 304…. Big range of bars and restaurants on your doorstep.

This is a self service hotel, no front desk. The phone number they have provided is very responsive with questions and concerns which I truly appreciate. The fire alarm went off during our stay and we were told that it is due to someone taking a hot shower and the steam cause the alarm to go off, I feel like the hotel should have a better system just so a simple thing as a steam from hot shower would not cause for the alarm to go off. We were traumatized during our stay there due to that. AC was not working very well. It gets noisy every night and you can feel the vibration in your room because it is close to a night club. The sides of the bathtub were leaking too after taking a shower.

UM LOCAL ACOLHEDOR, MESMO SEM RECEPÇÃO

Excelente localização, super limpo, confortável e de bom tamanho. Nosso quarto era na parte do fundo e assim não tivemos problemas com barulho. O café da manhã (breakfast) era bom e as senhoras que atendem muito gentis. Nos deram um late check out, o que foi muito bom para nós. Para uber, use o endereço 67 Old Bakery Street, já que não chega carro no hotel. Enfim, é uma excelente hospedagem em Valletta.
