The property is in a great location, in the middle of downtown Victoria. The check in and check out process was easy and the price was very reasonable. However, the suites are a bit rundown and could use some maintenance. The restaurant was not open in the hotel when we were there.

Old style charm

Old style charm accommodation with very welcoming, professional staff. Reasonably priced, well located in downtown area, quiet safe neighbourhood, safe outdoor parking lot for vehicles not able to enter all the underground parking in the city because of height restrictions.

We stay often and enjoy the pool and hot tub. A suite is so comfortable with the separate bedroom and kitchen. It's nice being able to not eat out for every meal. We will be back!

The location is excellent. No issue with cleanliness. The pool and hot tub were nice. The suite was old and tired. The attempt to appear retro doesn’t work at all. The toilet lid was completely detached. The bathroom sink was very slow to drain. The furniture is just old (visitors said it reminded them of their grandmother's home, not in a good way). The sofa bed (which in hotels are notoriously bad) was the worst of the worst and virtually unusable. We tried it open, closed and with the mattress on the floor, and it was horrid and noisy. Anyone sleeping on the sofa bed or any visitors had to go thru the separate bedroom to access the bathroom. A little awkward through the night. The staff were neither good nor bad, but certainly did not offer up any information at check-in such as pool hours, nor any other facility information. I have never once stayed there when the restaurant was actually open, including this visit so brekkie is not handy. Again, no information was offered up, but when I inquired, I was told that they open and close seasonally. I had specifically said at booking that I would not be using their parking lot but they automatically tacked it onto my bill anyway. The $22 per night charge for an outdoor surface parking lot in Victoria is absolute robbery akin to a resort fee. I might understand all of this Had I paid a bargain basement price but I didn’t. I won’t be booking at this hotel again.
