Tucked away on 3 quiet acres of native Hawaiian rainforest and just 2 miles from Volcanoes National Park, this cabin is the perfect place to unwind with family and friends.
This home has been purposefully built out of cedar boards and beams, giving it the unique ability to naturally weather the moisture and environment of the rainforest while amplifying its connection to the surrounding forest.
As soon as you walk in, the soaring ceilings featuring tongue and groove cedar direct your gaze to the massive wall of windows, providing an immersive view of the Ohia forest (native Hawaiian tree) beyond.
The open-concept living room, furnished with a cozy couch, chairs, and blankets, is perfect for reading a book in the misty quiet of the rainforest. The living room transitions to the kitchen, which offers a rustic yet highly functional finish. All the amenities you need to prep, cook, and entertain have been provided.
Up the stairs, you will find an even more immersive view through the windows. In addition, there is a smart TV and couch for enjoying movies, a daybed for afternoon naps or extra family, and a full bathroom with a shower.
Down the hallway on the main floor, you will find 3 bedrooms. The master bedroom has a comfy king-size bed and an en suite bathroom with a shower. The other two rooms share a bathroom with a tub/shower combo. One room has a queen bed, and the other has two twin beds.
You will have complete access to the cabin. The main floor includes an open-concept kitchen and living room, 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a large lanai (patio), and an open loft with a couch, flatscreen TV, and daybed.
Our hosts live on site and are there to assist when needed, but will otherwise give you privacy to enjoy the space.
The cabin is located in Volcano Village, a small and quiet town with just a few coffee shops and restaurants and an active arts center. Due to the large amounts of sunshine and rain, the area has lush foliage and abundant wildlife.
Due to the village’s remoteness, a car is vital for getting to and from it and also makes access to the National Park easier.
Guests will have the pictured cabin space to themselves. Our onsite hosts live in a completely separate unit on the bottom floor of the cabin. They’re there to assist you with anything you may need but will otherwise give you space and privacy. The homes are locked off from each other, and there are no common areas.
There is also a small cottage adjacent to the cabin that shares the driveway. This space may house different Airbnb guests but is a great option if you have a large group. Discounts can be offered if you book the cabin and cottage together.
The property is shared with another Airbnb listing. Please keep outside noise to a minimum.
