Lovely hotel with beautiful views over Catseye Bay. The room was large with an enormous balcony. Bed was very comfortable and I like that there was both a bathtub and (separate) shower. The hotel is steps from the beach and 10 mins walk from the Marina and its restaurants (there's also a free shuttle). Highly recommend!

Garden View Room was fairly noisy . Could hear the bus and also smell the smoke from the smokers area. The food options for room service were limited and not that good. Our last stay was really good but the menu is smaller and quality not as good. Room cleaning each day was average, for the price you pay , the service should be so much better. Sand on the floors was left and dirty plates not cleaned. Reception at front desk were unhelpful every time we were there. We have stayed here several times and this visit left us deciding to stay elsewhere next time.

The location was great and staff were friendly, the room was filthy with mould and dust. The people in the neighbouring unit were constantly smoking on the balcony to which it was annoying being on our balcony.

Overall I was disappointed considering the cost per night. I was surprised at the strong, pungent smell of damp in the room throughout our 3-nite stay. We had no option but to keep the balcony doors open to clear the smell during the day. There was a distinct lack of things which make a stay comfortable: a rug on the floor, cushion pads on chairs. This felt like a no-frills, paired-back room. I had to use towels to soften the hard wooden chairs on the balcony. I noticed lots of dust under the bed along with some packaging left behind by a previous guest - not exactly clean. The TV kept buffering, which was a bit annoying. Finally, my pet hate in hotels: bright white light bulbs. It felt like I was in a hospital about to be operated on. Seriously, how about some softer lighting so at least I can relax while I watch your tv buffering and choke on the mouldy smell?

We stayed on the 14th floor of the Reef View, this floor has glass balcony rails, the other floors except the 5th have alloy bar type rails, it was great sitting on the balcony looking at the reef change as the tides changed, our room was spacious for 2, clean and modern.

Very clean, nice staff. Beware: There are many amenities that cost extra, ex. Gym, sauna , mini golf all costs extra to use, golf simulator was not working - we were looking forward to using it. Nice staff, very friendly and helpful. It’s convenient and walkable. Very few food options- especially for snacks, I would bring extra snacks and / or head to IGA the grocery store. The island activities close very early. All in all, great location to stay to get a ferry to the Great Barrier Reef.

100% recommend Hamilton Island.

The island is just beautiful, you could hire golf buggy’s and travel around the island independently or use the free buses. Almost 100% car free island. Transfers to Airport sorted for you - subsidised or free water hire and activities on beach as a guest. Super relaxing but also fun. Unless you can afford one of the super luxe bungalows and private villas this is the best place to stay on the island and the breakfast was brilliant too 😉
